Updates from William and Erin E:

By Mrs J Hartwell8th April 2020

William was extremely busy last week and it is lovely to see how much effort he has put into every piece of work!

Keeping fit and active:

Baking cookies with Hannah (via FaceTime) – they look delicious!

Spreading awareness of Matt Lucas’s ‘Thank you Baked Potato’ song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYOkgCkxj9I) and receiving a tweet back from the man himself (and we agree – what a lovely smile, William!)

And on top of all of this, completing the tasks that I have set – I love the Confirmation piece on the gifts of the Holy Spirit:

Well done William!

Erin E has been keeping busy, working hard on her Maths and English as well as her handwiritng!

She has aldo been learning more Spanish on her tablet and is up to level 3!

Dad has emailed to say you can currently sign up to a 3 month trial on Rosetta Stone so fi you fancied keeping your Spanish skills fresh, give it a go! 🙂

She has also been busy researching the gifts of the Holy Spirit and making her stained glass window:

Roman, Lily and Olivier’s Second Week of Home Learning

7th April 2020Ella Hands

Roman continued to work hard at home. He completed a sound survey, explained what one of the Beatitudes means, scored full marks (again) on the spelling test and tackled various maths activities. Well done, Roman!

Lily worked extremely hard last week. She practised forming certain letters, answered comprehension questions and mathematical calculations and wrote a prayer to God asking for His forgiveness. I particularly enjoyed reading the non-chronological report that she wrote on a fictional creature, a llamacorn. Good girl!

Olivier was also very busy indoors and outdoors. He has learnt how to roller-skate and is practising hard in order to get better. He has continued to exercise daily with Joe Wicks and has enjoyed going for walks and bike rides. I’m pleased that you’re making the most of the sunny weather that we are having at the moment, Olivier!

A big well done to Thomas, Layla, Phoebe, Eden and Conor for sending some more fantastic work. Thomas has been working hard on his fact file, Layla and Eden have been learning about Palm Sunday, Phoebe has been researching greenhouses for DT and Conor has been working on his knowledge of time and building a camper van!

End of Week 2 work updates

By Mr A Cooke6th April 2020

The work has continued to come in this week and it’s great to see that, despite my motivation and mood dipping a little towards the end of the week, those working hard at home are still going strong.

Looking through this great work has just really cheered me up and reminded me of what a great school community we are.

Grace has been busy making a bridge – with a tunnel and street lights!

and she had great fun making this lovely bread and butter pudding on Friday:

Here’s a whole range of work from Cerys, including some close up photography.

Niamh’s wrist must be aching after all of this writing about earthquakes.  She’s also been working hard towards her Confirmation preparation.

and here’s a link to a song that she has created using Music Lab

and even more of her work from Friday:

This is Phoebe’s weekly spelling test.

I’m loving the creativeness in the Brennan household.  This is their fancy dress PE lesson.  I do wonder though, where the adults are and what their fancy dress is!

I’m really impressed with Riley’s work this week.  I particularly like his non-chronological report.

and his brother Finn has been working equally hard, including finding some rather creepy creatures

Here is Azal’s work from Week 2:

and some great pictures of Austin and Flynn busy with their work.

Ffion has been designing a musical instrument, writing a non-chronological report about her own creature – the dragonaid, keeping up with her maths and carrying out a science survey:

Annabelle has sent in some more of her beautiful work:

Here are some fabulous photos of Abbie and her work.  She’s quite clearly been working very hard at home.

Jacob has been working equally hard, too.

Oliver had a fantastic week.  Not only has he done such a brilliant job of his work, he’s also really looked after his mum, who hadn’t been feeling well. What a super lad!

Joachim, Simeon and Percy have all been producing great work:

Catherine is keeping herself busy and active, and it’s great to see her so excited about her new reading book!

Ted had a really busy week reading, writing, sewing, baking, exercising – and he’s still smiling at the end of it too! Well done!

Julian also had a busy week making cards, painting and learning new letters!

I’m really pleased with Alicja’s great work from last week:

And lastly, here’s lots of updates from children in our Early Years:

Ethan’s been super busy this week working hard on his draft newspaper report and it has paid off – take a read here:

Here’s Molly’s update. She has been busy walking and cuddling the newest member of her family (Bob!) every day and found this particular question on SPaG hilarious:

She has also been practising her addition skills with some dart practice:

Simeon has been super busy this week:

Emily has taken a break from braiding to plan and draft her newspaper report – I am excited to see the final pieces next week:

Hannah has also been drafting hers: Newspaper Report

(and finding time to make banana fritters – yum!)

I am so impressed with Ethan’s stained glass window  – he has chosen an image which represents his Confirmation Saint:

He has also been busy with lots of the other tasks, including painting his recently constructed bird house that he is so kindly donating to school (thank you!):

(Love the Still Life picture!)

Rebecca and Hannah have prepared their chosen objects for their still life image –  ask them why they have chosen each object:

Isla started her week of home learning off with her Confirmation RE tasks. She has written out this beautiful piece of scripture from the Book of Isaiah in preparation for work around the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit. She has also made a beautiful stained glass window representing the Holy Spirit.

She then moved on to her Geography, researching earthquakes. Her presentation of this week and last week’s Geography tasks is lovely:

Niamh‘s brain must be exhausted after her mathematical day:

She then made a great start on her newspaper report:

She has also been busy researching earthquakes, the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit and practising her very best handwriting using scripture from Isaiah (beautiful!):

In addition to dressing up and getting involved with Joe Wicks:

Assumpta has even found time to bake a cake with her siblings! Yummy!

Here is Helena’s collection of work:

Liam LJ has also started off with his Confirmation task, learning about the 6 gifts of the HS and decorating his stained glass window:

Despite finding them tricky to begin with, Hannah has persevered and completed this week’s maths challenge amongst many other tasks. She even found time for some baking with William (his chocolate cookie recipe!) via FaceTime!

Niamh has been back on it today mainly with some English and Science!

Emily must be all calculated out after today’s maths marathon:

She’s also been busy introducing her mum to Just Dance, learning how to dutch braid (missing Hartwell’s Hairdressers), walking11000 steps, making dens and sleeping in them and baking (not that she saved me any!)! Busy bee!

Maybe Hannah and Emily C could open their own hairdressers up:

‘O’Malley and Carter’

Harry has been busy completing his tasks but also taking some time out to do some baking, gardening, painting and climbing of trees:

And here’s all of Dhilan’s work: Dhilan

And Frank’s:

Year 5 Week 2 Round-up

By Mr T Rolison5th April 2020

Niko  had a busy week perfecting a delicious looking rice recipe.

Lola W was also getting active in the kitchen – an English breakfast looks like a great way to start the day!

Archie G got up close and personal to work on his macro-photography skills.

Cerys got stuck into Friday’s costumed workout with all her sisters, as well as completing some great research on macro-photography. As well as all this, well done for your top marks on spelling!

Sara has been busy all through the week. She’s created some really interesting biographies – one for Lady Godiva and one autobiography. Sara has also detailed her process for making some chocolate cupcakes – though version 2 may make a switch to milk chocolate instead of dark. Check out her week’s work here.

Bartosz is working extremely hard

By Lucy Clarke5th April 2020

Well done Bartosz. The work you have sent me is fantastic. I particularly liked the muffins instructions, it looks like a lot of fun! I also liked how Bartosz used his imagination as well as facts that he read to write a diary entry about the viking from the comprehension text this week. Well done!

Percy’s work

By Lucy Clarke5th April 2020

Percy sent me lots of work but I’ve chosen my favourite 2 to share with you. Here, he has answered questions from the reading comprehension in full sentences and he has researched another animal from the Sahara Desert and written some facts about it. Well done 😊
