Our term dates for the academic year 2016-2017 are now available here.
Please be aware that there are some differences between the All Souls term dates for 2016-17 and the standard Coventry Local Authority term dates – particularly around the Christmas holidays.
Please remember that World Book Day takes place on Thursday, 3rd March, 2016. Your child may attend school dressed as his/her favourite book character. For this privilege, the children will be asked to donate one pound and the money raised will be used towards helping to refurbish our school library.
The joys and benefits of reading are enormous and we, in school, hope to continue to encourage and enthuse your child with a love for reading that will last well beyond World Book Day.
We look forward to seeing the children dressed in their costumes on Thursday!
It’s that time of year again! All preparations are up and running for our St Patrick’s Day Coffee Morning, Thursday 17th March, 9.15am.
All are welcome to join what is always a fabulous event! For £2.50 entry, you will be served tea/coffee and cakes by our Y5 Maitre d’s, whilst enjoying entertainment from our school choir, guitarists, recorders, Mary McHugh’s Irish dancers and Tony Clothier’s band ‘Delaney’s Angels’.
If you’re looking to make the morning extra Irish, feel free to purchase Irish coffees too (priced at £2).
Our parents are always so generous and supportive and we are asking you if you could kindly donate any prizes for raffle (cakes, alcohol, unwanted gifts in new/good condition) or any larger donations for our auction (spa breaks, sports event tickets, restaurant vouchers etc).
For parents of Y5, please return the permission slip- indicating whether or not your child is able to serve tea and coffee- as soon as possible. If you require another letter, please collect one from the school office.
All proceeds from the day will be supporting the school fund and we greatly appreciate any donations.
Thank you!
Miss Quinn.
For this half term Year 2 will have outdoor P.E. and need to ensure they have their All Souls’ tracksuits and trainers. P.E. is on a Thursday and a Friday afternoon.
Thank you
Please note that our Spring term parents’ consultation evenings are scheduled for Tuesday 1st March and Wednesday 2nd March. Letters about the evenings, including a slip for you to book an appointment to see your child’s class teacher, should be coming home with your child today/tomorrow.
A copy of the letter can be downloaded here.
This week, we will advertising two full-time teacher vacancies in local and regional press. The advert will read as follows:
The governors of All Souls Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint two high quality classroom practitioners, who will always put the needs of our children first. These posts commence 1st September 2016 therefore we welcome applications from both experienced teachers and NQTs.
Are you:
- A teacher with a proven record of good and better classroom practice
- Someone who shares the vision of putting children first and goes the extra mile to make sure that this happens
- Someone who is passionate and wants to make every day in the classroom purposeful and enjoyable for every child
- Someone who brings the solutions and not the problems
- Someone who brings a smile and does not let the day to day grind of the job bring them and others down
- A practising Catholic or someone who will embrace the ethos and Catholic life of the school
We can offer you:
- The opportunity to work with incredible children and families
- A programme of CPD to enable you to become the practitioner that you want to be

Year 3
Thank you to everyone who returned the parent questionnaires during the second half of the autumn term. These have now been analysed and the findings are presented in a report, which can be found here.
A letter should be going home in the next couple of days giving you the opportunity to purchase copies of the class photos taken towards the end of last term. Photos are priced at £4 and can be ordered using the slip on the letter. You can view copies of the photos in the school foyer or see watermarked versions in the ‘latest news’ section of the website.
The letter/order form can be downloaded here.

Mr Cooke
