Thank you to all our family members who joined us at our Lent workshop today. We really enjoyed spending time with you and making something special for Lent. Also, thank you for braving the drizzle to join us on our Big Lent Walk! How nice for you to walk with us.

We were overwhelmed with the many fantastic entries we had for our competition! It was a very difficult job to judge them! They were all so brilliant! Who knew cardboard tubes could be so creative! Well done to our winners who won a book voucher and our runners up who won a sweet treat!
We had such a brilliant day celebrating world book day in school. The children (and staff!) had made a huge effort to dress up and all looked fantastic! The reading cafe was a success and was enjoyed by the children and the adults. Thank you to all who came. The children really enjoyed having you come into school for a short while.
Just a reminder about the competition to design a cardboard tube book character. Bring in your creations from Wednesday next week ready for judging on Friday!
Reception did our first Big Lent Walk yesterday. We walked half a mile in 15 minutes. Mrs Smith recorded just over 1000 steps so between us all we did 30000 steps!
Today was Internet safety day. We talked about all the different ways we go online and the ways we can keep ourselves safe. We ready a story about Buddy the dog who helped his owner Ben make good choices when online and we learnt the song that Buddy sings to Ben. We also coloured in some posters and designed our own tablet game!
Ask your child how they can keep themselves safe online.
Today Year 6 and Reception met for a Valentine’s themed craft. Firstly, Reception shared the story of Saint Valentine and why he became a saint. We then paired up to complete our heart threading activity. We worked well as a team and enjoyed a little play time afterwards!
This week was National Storytelling Week, an annual event organised by the National Literacy Trust.
This fantastic annual event is a joyful celebration of the power of sharing stories. Stories teach us about the world, they allow us to step into someone elseās shoes and feel empathy, they help us to relax and escape and they can help develop essential literacy skills.
To celebrate and acknowledge the week the children of All Souls’ embraced storytelling by visiting other year groups to share stories and read to each other.

Year 2 were also very lucky to have Lilah and Macie from Year 6 visit them as VIP readers on Friday afternoon.
Everyone had such a lovely week telling stories and spending time with others from across school, we hope it has encouraged the children to share stories with those at home!
Today Reception received a letter from a lost penguin. We decided to try and help find him so have made lost posters which we have put up around school. We also began to write a letter back to see if we can find out some more information. We are very excited to see if we can find him. If you see a penguin lurking around, please let us know! 
Group 1 are really enjoying cooking club. Last week we made a delicious apple and mixed berry crumble and this week we made chicken salad wraps. We were very good at cutting and assembling our wraps! There is still a couple of spaces left in group 2 which will begin after half term!
