Advent Day
No Pens Day was a huge S U C C E S S !
We began the day by ditching our pencil pots to take part in a big show and tell!
We enjoyed hymn practice, our ukulele lesson, some speech and language games, computing and an exploration of the forest school to make some art!
Thank you to everyone who brought in something to show and tell – we had such a wide array of items to share in our classroom this morning and it was great to hear the children speak with confidence about something that mattered to them. Huge thanks also to those who were able to donate to Speech and Language UK. Mrs Edge is still counting the coins but we will let you know how much we raised when we have a total – and that’s on top of the online donations you’ve made too!

Year 5 have been getting into the Christmas Spirit by learning how to play Jingle Bells, Away in a Manger and Silent Night on the glockenspiel.
The children really enjoyed their weekly session with Mrs Cooke and it was impressive to see them read from sheet music and perform in unison. The children did a wonderful performance that we are very proud to share with you!
Thank you for making us feel so festive Mrs Cooke!
The day started off playing different board games. Taking it in turns to play and listening to each other. They had to read the instructions and be patient with each other.
We then did our show and tell.
We then retold a traditional tale in our table group and changed one part.
We spent the afternoon playing Numbots and practicing the nativity.
On Wednesday 11th December, Year 6 will be attending the Christingle service at Coventry Cathedral.
We are asking for a contribution of £3 per child to cover the cost of the event during which children will receive their own items to make their Christingle upon return to school. This payment can be made throughSchool Gateway.
We will be walking to and from the event so ask that children wear appropriate footwear and a waterproof coat. For those parents wishing to attend, the service begins at 10am and will finish at approximately 11:15. We hope to see some of you there!

WOW!
What an absolutely incredible trip!
Despite some cold and rainy weather, our Year 6 children grew in self-confidence, resilience and positive mindset and took on all the challenges that came their way. We are so proud of every single one of them. The Dol-y-moch staff all commented on how wonderful they were and they were an absolute credit to their parents and our school. Their new found self-
confidence has already started to show in the classroom – long may it continue!
Well done, Year Six!

We received a letter from Father Christmas asking if we were planning on sending him a letter this year because December is only 8 days away and he has only received 4 letters from children in Year 2. We will be writing our letters in our English lessons. He left us freashly, baked gingerbread biscuits that Mrs Claus baked.
