‘Wear It Green’
Thank you to all the children who wore green today to raise awareness for Mental Health. Your generous donations helped us to raise over £200 as a school to support mental health charities.
This week, staff have also taken part in All Souls’ Coffee Roulette where we were randomly paired up with another member of staff to take half hour out of our busy days to enjoy a cuppa and connect! We thoroughly enjoyed the chance to catch up with different people, find out more about one another and share some laughter.
This week we have been writing instructions on how to make a salad. We designed, planned, made and evaluated our salad. We loved practicing our cutting and grating skills. We showed great teamwork skills in our groups. Our favourite part was the taste test.
Well done Year 1!
Year One have had a fantastic day at Coombe Abbey!
We learnt all about our local environment, went on a mini-beast hunt, created our own art using our surroundings, spent some time cloud watching and finally, played with our friends in the park.
What a busy day!
Thank you to our volunteers who made our day one to remember!
Year 1 had a fantastic day celebrating the King’s Coronation.
We spent the morning doing lots of arts and crafts, including making our own crown.
Then we enjoyed a picnic on the playground in the afternoon, followed by lots of dancing and playing.
A huge thank you to all the children, parents and staff who took part in our Junior Leadership Team’s Spring Writing Competition.
Well done to Mrs Jilks, Leo and Rose, our worthy 3rd, 2nd and 1st place winners!
A busy week in year one!
In RE we have been learning about the call of the disciples – we reflected our vocation to be like Jesus’ disciples and follow him in our every day lives as we created our own fishing rods.
In history we began our new topic: ‘How have holidays changed over time’. Mrs Cannon told us all about her holiday experiences as a child and showed us some photographs. We then had a look at holiday brochures and discussed the difference between holidays today and holidays in the past.
.
Sending the warmest Easter wishes and prayers to all of our wonderful families today.
May the resurrection of our Lord be a reminder of good conquering evil and life eternal.
Wishing you all a blessed Good Friday.
As we enter this most solemn time, let us remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for us and the sacrifices that people make for us today.

Year 1 and 2 enjoyed sharing stories with each other this afternoon. We wanted to make the most of the warm weather (until it started raining)!
