On Saturday 21st March 12 boys and girls took part in the Coventry Schools Cross Country Championships. More than 400 pupils from 25 plus schools competed in a 3 separate races with each child running approximately 900m.
The 1st race was the mixed relay (2 boys, 2 girls) unfortunately Ciaran was ill and was unable to run in the race. We still managed to compete though as Holbrooks School kindly let one of their reserve runners run for us and the team finished in a very respectful 11th place. Considering they were a runner down and we had someone else running for us this was a great result and you should be very proud.
The girls race was next and once again they were a runner down as Alicia from Y5 couldn’t make the race due to being ill. Roisin, who had only just ran in the mixed race, kindly offered to run again meaning the team could compete and managed to finish in 19th position, well done girls!
The final race of the morning was the boys relay. Luckily everyone was able to compete in this a was led out by Ben who managed to complete the first leg in 6th place. Kupa then took over and ran an incredible leg gaining three places and pushing us up into the medals. In the penultimate leg Callum, spurred on by his mum, managed to gain one more place and gain some ground on the leaders before passing the baton onto Ryan. Straight away Ryan started to close the gap on the leader from Bablake and at around the half way point over took him and opened up about a 10m lead. The Bablake boy followed Ryan maintaining the gap and with around 50m to go started to sprint for home, Ryan responded with a sprint of his own but unfortunately was over taken in the last few metres and finished in a terrific 2nd place, great effort boys!

the girls also supported the boys that is how they came second:):):)
