As part of our ongoing work surrounding space and our solar system, Year 5 will be working to construct their own alien next Monday (15.10.18).

I have asked the children to have a look around at home for any materials they would like to use for the construction. Ideally, these would be materials that could be recycled – please don’t feel the need to buy anything extra to bring in!

Suggested items could be:

-cardboard (cereal boxes, packaging)
-plastic (bottles, containers)
-tinfoil
-bubble wrap

If you don’t have anything at home, please don’t worry – we’ll be collecting spare items for all to use. Children will also have access to supplies to connect their materials (such as glue, tape, etc.).

We’re aiming to create our creatures at around 20cm tall, so at most children can bring in a plastic bag’s worth of materials.

If there are any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in contact.

Many thanks,

Mr Rolison
