Another action-packed week in Year 6!
Our highlights:
On Monday, we began the week by entering into the Primary Maths Challenge. We all found it really challenging and fun and were pleased with our scores! Well done to Henryk for a whopping score of 23/25! We also began reading our new text in literacy: The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne, which we are all really enjoying reading, unpicking and predicting! After school, the All Souls netball team won their match 8-0! Well done to all those who participated!
On Thursday, the school choir went to Morrisons to sing and raise money for our trip to the LG Arena – we raised a total of £273.22!! Well done to the choir and huge thanks to all of the teachers who helped us.
Today we started off by designing a new school brochure with Mr Youson in ICT followed by a fantastic superstars assembly, led by Mrs Hands. This week our Year 6 Superstars were Kelsey, for her commitment to numeracy, in which she has tried really hard to understand the traditional method of long division, and even gone home and taught her Mum, and Issy for her awesome effort at the basketball games! The *Outstanding Homework Award* went to Callum Keane for his clear understanding of long multiplication and the *Outstanding Work Award* went to Bronagh for her emotive diary entry as the protagonist of our text, Bruno. Friday ended with a hockey lessonThis week, Year 5 and 6 have their class mass on Tuesday and we are all really looking forward to the Christmas Bazaar on Friday after school (3.30 – 6.00) where there will be lots of stalls and a performance from the choir. We hope to see all of you there!
