We have had a very busy week. We have been looking at reading logos and signs.

We worked in groups to retell the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Cameron made a fabulous troll.

We have been measuring length and height. We worked in groups to order 10 objects from the shortest to the longest.

We ordered ourselves from the smallest to the tallest.

We used our phonic knowledge to help read the logos on lots of different products. This week we also started to introduce the children to our new Word Aware activity that we will be doing every week. We will introduce the children to three words a week and talk about what they mean and how and when we use them. The words this week are low, surprise and cover. Please ask the children the new words of week every week and help us to use them over the weekend.

We also went outside to look at the changes in the environment now that winter is here. We talked about the trees having no leaves and listened to the sounds of the birds.

Jaromir is the tallest in our class and Rosie is the shortest.

Next week we are going to be looking at the alphabet and talking about the name of the letters.  In mathematics we are going to start looking at subtraction, particulary and also beginning to write number sentences.
