In computing Year 6 children made their own version of a magic 8 ball using a BBC micro:bit. The BBC micro:bit is a pocket-sized computer that introduces children how software and hardware work together. It has an LED light display, buttons, sensors and many input/output features that they can program and physically interact with.

Using the Makecode platform, children used conditions and variables to code their BBC micro:bits so that when they were shaken they would produce a random answer. They then added this code to the Micro:bit and tested it out with other pupils and staff.
