Year 4’s half-term homework is to continue with their spelling and times tables practise.
They have been asked to choose words to practise from a list given to them, using methods that they are familiar with (pyramid words, look cover write check, using sentences and underlining graphemes in the word).
The children have also been asked to find the origins of some words – if possible. This can be done by searching online and finding out where and when the word originated and recording this in their homework book.
The class have also been given the timetables grids that they know how to use. They should fill out 2 grids and time themselves, aiming to beat their first time on their second attempt.
