Year 4 have been learning about different types of poetry this week including haikus, tankas, cinquains and limericks. Here of some of the highlights!

Limericks:

There was horse with a golden main,

who went for a ride on a train,

he pranced around

and fell to the ground,

then went back to do it again.

By Lewis

There was once a man from Mars

who used to love chocolate bars

he cooked a few dozen

but they got trapped in the oven

oh that silly old man from Mars.

By Caleb

There was a man from Ealing

who has spots on his ceiling

he could not wear a hat

his head was too fat

and it gave him a funny old feeling

Summer is our reigning king!

Summer rules the world.
