This week our gardeners were ‘chitting’ new potatoes a special box called a ‘chitting’ box. It is used to place the potatoes into with the seed potato resting in it with its shoot facing up. The children then placed them in the warm polly tunnel so that the shoots can harden off.
Unfortunately the mice have been busy and have eaten all of the peas which were planted but we shall not be beaten! The children have now planted a new batch today and have put them in the greenhouse high up away from hungry mice.
Well done gardeners for your commitment!
