It has been enormous fun having the task of sketching some of our staff for the PTA All Souls Towel.  Not sure what the individual members of staff will think though!  Unfortunately, Mr Youson looks a little Shakespearean.

Think I’m going to have to keep working at Mrs Quinn though – otherwise I’ll be looking for another job!

Here’s version 2

We held our first Online Safety Group meeting today, which brings together people from various aspects of the school community to discuss how we ensure that our children and staff are kept safe when online or using technology.  We discussed a range of topics including:

• School policies for online safety
• Our plans for Internet Safety Week 2017
• Our information evening for parents on November 30th
• A survey that we will be asking children and parents to complete about use of technology and the Internet

Mrs Hartwell was elected as chair of the group.  We will be looking to recruit some more children to join Tyler and Josh as pupil members as well as some parents.  Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 17th January 2017 at 12:15pm.  Thank you to all those who attended or are involved in this very valuable group.

Mr Cooke – Online Safety Lead

Well done to the netball team who played superbly against St. Osburg’s tonight.  The first two periods were very closely fought with the lead swapping and changing several times between the two schools.  During the third period, we found our rhythm though and scored 5 goals consecutively.  We held on well during the final quarter, rounding off what was our best performance of the season so far.  The final score was 11-5 to All Souls.

A big well done the whole team: Issy (Captain), Matthew, Martha, Maddy, Aila and Michael. A special well done to Aila, who was chosen by the opposition as our player of the match.

Thank you to St Osburgs for playing in a very sporting manner, and their warm welcome – and to Mrs McDevitt for umpiring.

Our next match is against St. Elizabeth’s on Friday in the Catholic Cup.

As we have a netball match on Tuesday (8th Nov), next week’s netball training will take place on Monday (7th Nov), after school from 3:15-4:15pm. Apologies for any inconvenience that this causes – and I appreciate if some children are unable to attend due to other commitments.

Well done to the school netball team, who played their second match of the season tonight, at St Thomas More Primary.  It was a great game, with both teams doing themselves and their school’s proud – and played with an excellent temperament throughout.  In the end, All Souls came out winners, with the final score 6-2.  Was also lovely to catch up with Mrs Fennell, who has just taken charge of Netball at St Thomas More, having begun working there in September.

Big thanks to Matthew, Martha, Orlaith and Issy from Year 6 and Aila, Michael, Rebecca and Lily from Year 5 for their contributions to an overall great team performance.  Congratulations to Issy for being an excellent captain again, and for once again being voted player of the game by the opposition.

Our next match is against St Elizabeth’s in the Catholic Cup, shortly after half term.
