FAO: Parents of children in Year 3
A letter will be coming out sometime this week with details of how you can purchase copies of the individual and class First Holy Communion photos taken a couple of weeks back.

Our term dates for the academic year 2016-2017 are now available here.
Please be aware that there are some differences between the All Souls term dates for 2016-17 and the standard Coventry Local Authority term dates – particularly around the Christmas holidays.
A huge thank you and well done to the 40 children who have so far collected and returned their sponsor money from the mud run before half term. The total currently sits at a staggering £817.12 which is an amazing achievement so far. We’ll gratefully receive any further sponsor money from those children who are yet to return it.
A letter was sent home with children in Year 3, 5 and 6 yesterday informing parents of our summer term swimming booster sessions that will be taking place after Easter.
It would be great if parents could return the forms at the base of the letter as soon as possible. An electronic copy of the letter is available here.

The netball team continued their winning streak yesterday afternoon when they defeated a very resilient and determined St. Osburgs team.
It was not a typical All Souls performance and for the first three periods the team struggled to find their rhythm and accuracy. With 5 minutes of the match remaining we were trailing 4-3, at which point the team dug deep and showed their true quality, scoring 5 times in as many minutes to leave the final score 8-4.
Well done to all the team – many of whom were feeling unwell – for their determination. A huge thank you also to the St. Osburgs team and staff for their sportsmanship and manners.

Please note that our Spring term parents’ consultation evenings are scheduled for Tuesday 1st March and Wednesday 2nd March. Letters about the evenings, including a slip for you to book an appointment to see your child’s class teacher, should be coming home with your child today/tomorrow.

Thank you to all of the parents who stayed for the sessions after school last Wednesday and for the positive feedback. As promised, the notes that the teachers used are now available to download here. They are rough notes, but should make sense to those who attended and reinforce the messages delivered.
We had great fun (and made a big mess!) tonight trying to take some high speed photos of droplets of water colliding with bowls of water and milk. Having quickly pulled a few shots from the memory card, some of them don’t look too bad. We’ll be editing them in Photoshop next time.
We tried to produce a range of surreal photographs tonight, taking multiple exposures of us posing with frames and then using them together in layers on Photoshop to combine them into one image.
