Unfortunately year 4 have no superstars this week.

Year 5:

Issy – For writing a fabulous poem and using adventurous vocabulary.

Jemima – For working extremely hard in maths and producing great work.

Year 6

Berri D – For being enthusiastic in Spanish.

Issy W – For being focused in the exams and taking them seriously.

Catholic Cup Netball match vs Good Shepherd

A big well done to the netball team who played superbly to beat a very strong Good Shepherd team, 10-3 in the quarter-final of the Catholic Cup tonight.

The first few minutes of the game were very evenly fought, until we got our first goal.  After that we worked hard to build up a commanding lead, which was just too much for a very resilient Good Shepherd team to pull back.

Very proud again of our team: captain Ethan, Emma, Libby, Aliscia, Mia, Issy and player of the game, Owen, who took a nasty tumble to the floor in the final quarter, but recovered to watch the team see out the final few minutes.

We now await to see whether we will be facing St. Anne’s or St. Elizabeth’s in the semis.

Sponsored ‘Mud Run’

Years 1-6 will be having a sponsored ‘mud run’ on Thursday 11th February (the last day of the half-term) to raise money for PE equipment.  Letters and sponsor forms should be coming home with the children tonight.

Netball league match vs St John Vianney

A belated huge well done to the netball team, who beat St John Vianney when we played them at home last Monday evening.  The final score was 12-1.  It was, by far, our best game of the season and showed so much progress from our other recent games.

Me and Miss Quinn are, as ever, very proud of the team: Captain Ethan, Mia, Aliscia, Emma, Owen, Issy and player of the match, Libby.

 

Parent questionnaire report

A letter should be going home in the next couple of days giving you the opportunity to purchase copies of the class photos taken towards the end of last term.  Photos are priced at £4 and can be ordered using the slip on the letter.  You can view copies of the photos in the school foyer or see watermarked versions in the ‘latest news’ section of the website.

Netball Cup Match vs St Gregory’s

We finally got to play our first home match of the season tonight – a cup game against St Gregory’s.

Although not our best performance of the season, we ground out an 8-2 victory, courtesy of some very clinical shooting.  Much of the game was very closely fought, with final moments of daylight fading away rapidly.  Even Rudolph’s nose wouldn’t have been able to guide the players!  With night-vision goggles attached for the final quarter, and the remote control ball in operation, we were able to seal the victory, using our electronic lowering posts to make the job easier!  Joking aside, the team held their nerve well towards the end and deserved the win.

Thank you to our opponents for putting us through our paces and reminding us the there are parts of our game we still need to work hard at.

Well done to our captain Libby, Ethan, Emma, Mia, Issy, Aliscia and tonight’s player of the game, Owen.

Hoping that Santa delivers the stilt shoes we’ve asked for to give us a height advantage for the next round.

That means that having played five matches this term, we’ve won 4 and lost 1.  Not a bad term!  We currently sit second in the Coventry West Catholic League.
