Year 1 smashed their mini marathon this morning – Well done!
They thoroughly enjoyed a bit of ‘shoot out’ in their house teams celebrating the Sky Blues!

It was so lovely to see the children settle into the new school year and their new classroom space. Super job!
The children enjoyed making cards for their families and also for our local All Souls community. They really enjoyed delivering their cards to our school neighbours.
The children also worked carefully to make their Baby Jesus’ ready to blessed at the end of Mass on Gaudete Sunday on 15th December 2024.
Mr Bibb (Miss Bibb’s dad) came to be our VIP reader and what a star! He shared a lovely story about a hungry little hedgehog on his hunting adventures. He even brought in a hedgehog called Heath to help us with our learning.
Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed listening to Mr Bibb share the story and also asking and answering hedgehog themed questions!
Miss Bibb then shared a lovely Hedgehog arty activity to help the children get exciting about some explanation writing they will be doing all about hedgehogs – Hoots Ahoy!
The children enjoyed their ‘Christmas Pilgrimage’ around the Cathedral completing activities linked to the Christmas story.
They dressed up into character as they retold the story of the Jesus’ birth, walked and rode on a donkey for the 70 mile journey to Bethlehem only to find no room at the Inn, warmed themselves at a campfire whilst recording the ‘Good News’ that Jesus had been born, wrote about a time they had been surprised as they learned about the Angel Gabriel speaking with Mary, made party hats and cards to celebrate the birth of Jesus and much more.
Year 2 had a great time at the Karate taster session.
The Year 1 children have thoroughly enjoyed meeting our visitors Mrs Cannon and Mr Williams AKA Magic Grandma and Magic Grandad who shared some of their childhood experiences including bringing in some objects and pictures to share.
Mainly describing what they played with as a child, but also how other things in their lives were a bit different for example: playing out on the street or in the local area until ‘tea time’, walking to the shops alone or with a sibling, visiting the town centre and how this looked very different, not so many cars on the roads and even getting a ‘smack’ at school for breaking the rules!
The children were very excited to hear these stories and experiences, join in with the activities and ask the visitors questions about themselves .

In Math’s learning, the children have enjoyed exploring and using the resources to help them with counting out quantities accurately and also to represent given numbers.
Year 1 joined in well with a virtual ‘Relaxation Session’ with the School Nursing Team
Lots of fun in Geography recreating our journey to school using the construction resources to help create the buildings we pass.
