This week our role play area was transformed into a shop keeper. The children have thoroughly enjoyed taking on the role of the customer and the shop keeper!

Reception went on an autumn walk this week making observations about autumn. We collected leaves and brought them back to class. We have started making animal pictures using the leaves.

Please note: all children in Reception will take part in the talent show next Friday for Children In Need. We have been learning a dance in P.E. which the children will all perform together.
All reception children have now been allocated a book. It is really important to read with your child as much as possible throughout the week and to practise the flashcards too. We also require you to write in the record, a little note to say what you have done (flashcards too) and to sign and date it too. Please ensure this both the record and book are in your child’s book bag everyday. Thank you for your support.
We created our pictures by using marbles and paint. We rolled the marble, which was covered in paint, around the paper. We used straws to blow the paint in different directions. We added lots of glitter too, it was great fun!

In reception this week we have been practising recognising our numbers. Don’t forget to read those numbers when you are out and about with your parents.

Reception parents, don’t forget to pay for your child’s Christmas trip to see ‘Stick Man,’ make sure you have signed up for our new online payment system.
Also please remember that you need to write in your child’s reading record every time you hear them read. Please send both their book and record in each day.
Thank you
Miss Cowley
Reception have also been learning 3D shape names:

This week learning has been linked to the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We have read the story, re-enacted it in the role play area, sequenced the story, learnt a song and dance and even made porridge too! The children have really enjoyed all of the activities.
