Team A are back!

By Mrs J Hartwell9th May 2020

Mrs  McCloskey, Mrs Atwal, Mrs Elkins have had another wonderful week with the children and feel very lucky to have been blessed with the return of the sunshine! Here is what we got up to!

Creating mobiles for the forest garden:

Making bird cakes and treats:

Decorating slate and stones to create a fairy garden:

Putting it all together outside:

Making ice lolly cocktails…

… and eating them:

Making fruit jelly cocktails….

… and eating them:

Making cake pops…

… and eating them (there’s a theme going on here!):

Making Rice Krispie cakes (we took these ones home to eat!):

Climbing the gym apparatus:

Oliver even taught me some new tricks:

Celebrated VE day:

… and even found some time to celebrate Mrs McCloskey’s big 50th birthday!

We played ‘Pass the Box’ where we had to complete challenges such as ‘Pull a funny face’ and ‘Try some popping candy’.

We played ‘Pass the parcel’ where we won lots of sweet treats:

Finally, we had a tea party and of course sang a big ‘Happy Birthday’ to Mrs McCloskey!

*Year 6 – Home Learning – Week 5*

By Mrs J Hartwell5th May 2020

We received a lovely little delivery from Ethan this week as he and his mum have been busy maknig doughnuts! I have it on good authority that they were delicious! I’m looking forward to the next (gluten free) batch! 😉

He has also been busy completing lots of the tasks set this week:

Hannah has also been a busy worker bee and is onto her second home learning book!

I LOVE her Confirmation work on the fruits of the Holy Spirit:

Here is some of her other work too:

Niamh has been as busy as ever:

She even found the time to dye her hair pink:

… and still found time to take part in some Science experiments:

Here is Molly’s fruit tree:

Emily C’s Confirmation work in particular is beautifully written:

Maths is clearly Harry ‘s favourite subject!

Some work from Erin:

Lots of updates from William (making cocktails, buying icecreams and Zooming):

And here is all of Dhilan’s work from last week!

*Year 6 – Home Learning – Week 4!*

By Mrs J Hartwell1st May 2020

I absolutely loved catching up with most of you on the phone last week – it was great to hear you all enjoyed the Easter holidays with your families!

Now it’s back to home learning and already we have had lots of fab photos emailed in. Keep them coming!

Liam LJ created this stunning timeline to reflect on the events of Holy Week:

He has also been busy making Oreo desserts that look delicious!

Niamh has been busy making new tops, dinner for the family and cracking on with her maths:

Check out her fab poem too:

Harry has started the week with lots of enthusiasm:

Please take the time to read his beautiful poetry:

He has also been making time to go on adventures with his little brother:

I love Roisin’s mnemonics and her poem:

and Isla’s poetry:

Hannah created this beautiful rainbow outside her house (check out her dip-dyed hair too!):

She has also been busy helping Mum and Dad with the cleaning:

And of course working her way through this week’s task (I love the poetry!):

The card she made for her Nan is beautiful too:

Frank sent me a rather cheeky email to let me know that he enjoyed not doing any school work for the Easter holidays but ‘unfortunately’ has been busy with it this week. We know he’s missing us really!

I really loved his pop up card he created for DT. He chose to make a birthday card for Jan and delivered it as part of his daily exercise. I am sure it made Jan’s birthday extra special!

Ethan enjoyed a visit from Mr Cooke and Mrs Quinn this week and also has been busy practising his handwriting using the blurb of our new book – check out his tiger!

Ethan chose to make his pop up card for his mum to thank her for her support with his home learning – how thoughtful and what a beautiful card too!

EK (1)

He has also spent lots of time working on these two stunning poems:

… and working his way through various other tasks:

as well as cleaning the whole house!

William has also been a busy bee working hard as well as dying his hair green, planting vegetables and working out:

Here’s Molly’s work and our weekly update from Bob the boxer too:

Look at her yummy cookies! Loving the Star Baker apron:

Here’s all of Emily’s hard work:

Here’s William’s work (and pictures of him helping with the chores, chilling and his gorgeous cats!):

By Mrs J Hartwell23rd April 2020

We are having another wonderful week enjoying lots of fun, making new memories and feeling so grateful for this gorgeous sunshine! Here’s a snippet of what we have been up to:

Making and flying kites:

Exploring forest school and toasting marshmallows:

Creating dishes using clay and leaf imprints – ready to paint in a couple of weeks time:

Working together to solve the sweety treasure hunt and of course eating them:

Getting arty and creative with junk modelling:

Celebrating St George’s Day:

Taking part in our own sports afternoon:

Enjoying picnics, snack times and making banana splits:

Going to war with water:

… and much, much more! We really have had a fabulous week full of so much laughter, risk-taking, learning and sunshine!

Thank you so much to Mrs McCloskey, Mrs Elkins and Mrs Atwal for making it so enjoyable for all of the children (and adults!).

Have a lovely weekend all 🙂

Check out Rebecca’s delicious looking dessert – yum!

Ethan has been busy beavering his way through his home learning tasks, making breakfast pancakes for his mum and dad and growing vegetables as well as making the most of all this sunshine!

Hannah’s Lenten cross:

William and Bruno the cat have been hard at work researching earthquakes and solving maths challenges!

Hannah has been planting seeds (again with William via FaceTime)- you can see one just started to show through!

She has also been busy challenging herself in Maths and writing up her final newspaper report in English:

And finally, here are some mouth-watering pictures of what she has been baking this week:

Niamh’s been a busy bee reflecting on the events of Holy Week and creating and her cheesecake dessert – looks delicious!

She has also been putting her artistic skills into practice with this still life image:

Rebecca started the week off with practising her new spellings by creating a wordsearch for a member of her family to solve:

Isla has been busy tasting a (wide!) range of baked and unbaked deserts before planning her own and putting her recipe to the test:

They look delicious! If you fancy a tasty treat, why not try to follow her recipe?

She’s also been getting full marks on her timestables and spellings! Her lovely mum rewarded her with a lovely salon treatment and a trim which looks beautiful!:

Harry has been busy converting fractions and watching videos to consolidate his understanding of the ciruclatory system:

He has also been getting his recipe for Ginger Snaps ready to bake amongst other things:

Roisin has been busy planning a prayer service based on Holy Week for her family, converting fractions, making a wordsearch and checking her understanding on the circulatory system!

Molly‘s stained glass window design looks beautiful!
