Ukulele Performance

On Friday 22nd June, Year 4 will be heading to the Albany Theatre for the afternoon alongside many other Coventry primary schools to showcase their ukulele talents to each other (unfortunately, no other spectators allowed).

As the performance begins at 1pm, children will have an earlier lunch before taking a walk down. It is due to finish at 2.30pm; therefore, we should be back at school ready for pick up at normal time. If this changes for whatever reason, I will let you know.

The whole school have been invited to come in non-school uniform that day as we have our whole school talent show in the morning. I am still happy for Year 4 to do this; however, they must bring their school uniform to change into for their performances on stage.

Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day to all of our wonderful Daddies, Uncles and

Grandads!

Year 4 hope you enjoyed their class assembly telling you all about the history of Father’s Day and what makes you all so special! Not only did they write their own words, they also made up their own songs which they sung whilst showing off their ukulele skills. Well done Year 4! 🙂

R-Time

Today in RTime, we worked in partners to build our communication skills. Our task was to create a Union Jack but there were some strict rules we had to follow. It was really tricky but helped us to communicate better with eachother 🙂

 

 

Year 4’s God-given talents

Today, Year 4 show-cased their God-given talents as they performed an act to the rest of the class in a bid to win one of the three class entries into the whole school talent show which will take place on Friday 22nd June.

All children performed confidently and had clearly put a lot of thought and effort into their routines. The three acts that have made it into the final will be announced on Monday!

 

How can we classify vertebrates?

Year 4 are enjoying learning all about living things in Science. Today, we looked at how we can use the features of animals to classify them into five further groups: mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds and fish.

Today we continued our learning in Science by asking how classification keys can help us to identify living things?

The children had the opportunity to create their own classification keys to identify living things in a variety of habitats. A particular well done to Ethan, Molly, Charlie, Simeon and Jan, who worked very well as a team to create this without any support!

Pizza Express!

The children (and staff!) in Year 4 LOVED their trip to Pizza Express this morning as part of their Design Technology project.

We learnt about the basics of a traditional pizza before getting our own aprons and hats on!

We kneaded and stretched our own dough base and added on some toppings to create our very own Margaritas!

 

The smell of them cooking was just too much so we had to stop outside to have a little taste and give us the energy to walk back to school.

The children were so well behaved and walked to and from the venue so sensibly – a real credit to all as always.

Well done Year 4. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

Feast of the Ascension

Year 4 visited the school prayer garden today to commemorate the bodily Ascension of Jesus into heaven. We held a lovely prayer service, each making our own promise to continue to be messengers and follow in the footsteps of Christ.
