Year 6 children will be coming home today with the letter below outlining some important dates for parents and details associated with our SRE programme. Please return the reply slip to confirm whether you will be attending either of the sessions for parents.

We had another fabulous afternoon getting to know eachother!

They really enjoyed showing off their Maths skills as they created a poster with some sums to give answers to clues about who they were for us to figure out.

The children completed some fantastic artwork too that we can’t wait to get up in our new classroom.

We are all really excited for our third and final transition meeting on Wednesday5th July where we will be playing a variety of team-building games and writing our own autobiographies. The children should have come home with a question sheet so that they can find out some information to help them with this. They can bring it in with them on the day or hand it in before if they so wish.

This afternoon we had our first opportunity to get to know eachother and the children were as excited to meet me as I was to meet them! They were also pleased to know that Miss Fox will be joining us too! Year 4 will be a big change for us all but one that we are all really looking forward to!

We started the afternoon by greeting eachother in different languages before they got the opportunity to interview me. The children earnt lots of house points for asking some fabulous questions!

After sharing with them my love for reading, I then put their origami skills to the test to make their very own monster bookmark! The results were amazing and they couldn’t wait to take them home to show them off!

Finally, we finished the afternoon by playing some outdoor games like the traditional Duck Duck Goose …

And we learnt some new ones too! We are all excited to continue learning lots more games over the next few weeks as we continue our focus in friendship!

This morning, we had another opportunity to be wowed by Atomic Anna and the children loved it, as always!

All children should have received a letter with details about their summer camp that Warwick University.

On Thursday 25^th May 2017 at 6.30pm, there will be a Vocation Mass held at Holy Family Catholic Church. Your child should have received a letter with the details and a reply slip to return. This is an annual celebration in which all Year 6 and Year 5 children are invited to attend. This year’s theme is ‘Robed in the Glory of God’. It would be great to see as many children their as possible, with this being an opportunity for the recently confirmed Year 6 to continue their Catholic lives as positive role models within the church and Year 5, who have recently begun their preparations for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation next year.

We had a fantastic afternoon rocking away to some fabulous music from Mr Evans and his rock band! We all got up dancing, clapping and singing. Lots of fun was had by all, especially the teachers!

Thank you to Father Michael and Ann Christy for coming into Year 6 today and helping us to explore the meaning of ‘Vocation’.

Year 6 have had a morning of RE and Art this morning as they designed, planned and created their own interpretation of our school’s mission statement to portray what it means to them.

Needless to say, the classroom was a ‘working environment’ (a complete mess) but I was absolutely wowed after lunchtime, when I came back upstairs to a spotless classroom – the children worked so hard as a TEAM to get their classroom back to normal! Well done Year 6!
