Well done to Drew, Ella and Dylan who organised and led a beautiful prayer service outside in the prayer garden, making the most of the glorious sunshine!

The summer term is here already – time has flew this year! It is lovely to see the children return looking refreshed after a well-earned two week break, ready for a few more weeks of hard work. See our class newsletter to find out what we have in store for the term ahead!
With only a few weeks left before SATs, we have started off the term well by working hard, listening well and trying our very best. Let’s hope these positive attitudes continue! This week has already been a busy one, reminding ourselves of all the knowledge we learned before the Easter break. We also created our own experiments in Science and shared our findings with each other.

On Thursday, Nathalie, Owen, Louis and Issy went to Bishop Ullathorne representing Year 6 to plan this year’s vocation mass.
We have created a playground rota to ensure the new playground equipment we purchased is being put to good use and shared fairly. The house groups will be allocated days on a rotating basis with each week’s attendance winners earning themselves an extra day – so come on Year 6, keep that attendance high! This is also happening for football whilst we are on the playground to ensure a fair balance.
This week’s superstars were Libby and Owen for always being polite and well-mannered.
Have a lovely weekend. See you on Monday!

Happy Easter!
Thank you for our lovely chocolate! 🙂
Well done for working so hard this term, Year 6!
Enjoy your well-earned rest, ready for some more hard work next term.

Super duper congratulations to Nathalie, Keon and Drew who argued their motion that living in the town is better than living in the country in the final of Coventry’s Primary Debating Competition. They couldn’t have done it to such a high standard without their side-kick Rosaleen who put in as much effort and preparation in helping them and practising as a reserve. All four children have put in tremendous amounts of effort over the past few weeks and so it was great to see the outcome of this as we, along with their parents and grandparents, watched the debate being streamed live today into our very own classroom. They truly did make us extremely proud. Well done debaters!

Keeping in with the theme, all of Year 6 have been busy preparing for their very own debates which we had the pleasure of watching this afternoon. Again the effort and preparation that had gone into some of the arguments today was fantastic to see.
There were four motions that children either proposed or opposed:
More photos and videos to follow. Stay tuned…
Year 6 had an investigative afternoon exploring different components that make up circuits. They managed to make light-bulbs, buzzers and motors work and some even made their own switches. They raised lots of questions that need investigating so stay tuned to find out more…
The children were thrilled to receive a visit from Sky Blue Sam this morning. He came to congratulate the football team and offer them some football tickets but also had a little time to say hello to all the other classes too. Thank you Coventry City FC!
We have had an extremely busy week in Year 6: continuing our preparation for receiving the sacrament of Confirmation; sympathising with the Samaritan woman in RE; improving our grammar, punctuation and proofreading skills in English; and really improving our written arithmetic skills in maths amongst many other things.
Today, we had the pleasure of watching Year 1’s Mothers Day assembly. It was great to see how much they have grown in confidence already. As it is 24 hours for the Lord, we also went to church to spend time in silence and stillness, as a class, focusing on Jesus and remembering His love and mercy for us. We spent the last hour of the day writing and preparing a little something for the very special Mum’s in our lives.
It was great to see the huge effort put into the homework this week and as mentioned before I was also really impressed with the effort put into practising the spellings. We have had fantastic attendance at our extra morning sessions too! It feels as though everyone is really upping their ante in preparation for the forthcoming SATs and transition into secondary school – the hard work is paying off. I am looking forward to seeing this continue.
Our Superstars this week were Owen and Drew for their hugely improved effort and concentration in Maths!
Well done to the netballers who played well last-night and good luck to all those taking part in sports events today and tomorrow.
Have a lovely weekend!

I am thrilled to bits that all the nagging about the importance of learning our weekly spellings is paying off.
This week, Year 6 have jumped from last week’s class average of 12.5/20, to this weeks class average of 18.1/20! This really does show what they are capable of when they dedicate their time and effort to practising them. I am looking forward to seeing that class average rise that little bit more next week!
As always, you can find the weekly spellings in the homework section of Year 6’s webpage.
Well done Year 6 – we are extremely proud of you!
