The children in Year 2 have written a lovely letter this week to the children in Year 1, telling them all about the year and the exciting things they’ve done. We shared it with the children on the playground to help any nerves.

We’ve had our first forest school session this week getting to know the area. The children were tasked with finding 3 things smaller than their thumb as well as having some free time to make, play, climb and build! We’re excited for our next session already!
Hello, I hope you are all well.
Just a few messages as we approach the last few weeks of term.
In our forest school sessions, we are going to be making a water filter. Please could you send in any used plastic bottles you have at home by 11th July. Ideally we would like 30 so children can make their own.
We will be going to the library on Monday 27th June so please ensure your child brings in their borrowed items and library cards.
Finally, we will be holding a cake sale to raise money for a very special visitor. To finish our learning of Medicine across time, we will be having a Florence Nightingale workshop on Friday 15th July. We will be holding the cake sale at breaktime and afterschool on Friday 1st July so we are asking for donations if possible for other year groups to buy. Any special dietary additions would be appreciated also!
Thank you for your continued support,
Miss Clarke
We had a brilliant time on Wednesday at Hatton Farm. We fed goats, got to spend time stroking guinea pigs, had a ride on the farm safari, played on the zip wire and sand pit and finally had a brilliant time in the soft play! Here are some of the photos from the day.
We walked to Earlsdon library again on Tuesday and borrowed some more books. The children enjoyed browsing and finding a book that interested them and some were very excited to find the book they were looking for. I can’t wait to hear all about them!
This week In Year 2 we have done our teachers proud! Some of the children led bidding prayers at Mass and we have had fun programming in Computing. In RE we have been learning more about the Holy Spirit and have started our adventure story.
We will be going to the library on Monday 23rd May so please ensure your child has their library card and any library books to return so they can get a new book out. Many thanks for your co-operation in this.
We finally got to perform at Young Voices last night, with 120 other schools and 6000 children in total. We had a fantastic time and made our singing teachers very proud in terms of our performance but also our impeccable behaviour!
Well done to all the choir children for your committment and effort that you have put into learning the songs. Hopefully you’re not too tired today!
Please note that our Thursday afterschool rehearsals will stop and we will begin again on Thursday lunchtimes after the half term break where the choir will open up to new members!
We are very excited to share that we will be singing at the Maudslay on Friday 6th May to raise money for the coach to take us to Young Voices. We will be singing through some of the Young Voices songs (so you get a sneak preview!!). All family members are welcome and please spread the word!
See you there,
Miss Clarke
