Year 1 and 2 took part in a KS1 gymnastics competition at Tribe Cheer, Dance and Fitness this afternoon. Each child had to complete 2 routines with the best 6 scores counting towards the teams overall total.

The children have practiced extremely hard for the last 2 week and this showed as they all performed brilliantly. This resulted in us finishing in 2nd place by just 0.3 points. More schools are competing in the first round tomorrow with the two best schools moving forwards to the next round in Solihul. We will find out if we are one of the top two schools early next week.

Well done everyone you all performed fantastically.

A big thank you to the Maisie, Molly, Lola, Gracie and Muno from Year 6 who gave up lots of their time to help the children learn the routines.

We are due back at school in 30 minutes traffic dependant.

Yesterday children from Year 3 and 4 took part in an Endball (similar to bench ball) festival at Woodlands Sports Centre. Each team played 7 five minute games taking it in turns to play in different positions. They all had a great morning and are looking forward to representing the school again.

On Saturday 8 boys from Year 5 and 6 braved the cold weather and took part in the Coventry Boys Cross Country Race.

The boys, some of whom were running for the school for the first time, all performed fantastically. Our top place finisher in the ‘A’ race was Lorcan who finished in 2nd place just a few metres behind 1st. He was closely followed by Kai in 8th, Harry in 41st and Tyler in 81st. All of the boys finished in the top half as more than 200 boys competed in the race which is a great achievement.

The ‘B’ race was equally as good and competitive with over 200 boys running again. First over the line for All Souls was Finn in 8th place. Hot on his heels were the other three, Kian in 18th, William in 32nd and James in 52nd.

Well done everyone who competed a superb performance from everyone. Unfortunately as we didn’t have a 5th person in the ‘A’ race we couldn’t place as a team in either of the races.

A big thank you to Mrs McGaffney for supporting the boys on the cold and wet morning.

Next individual race for the boys will be on the 19th March 2019.

After a terms hard work all the classes celebrated their great achievements in assembly this morning.

We look forward to seeing parents this afternoon who are also coming to look at their displays.

The football team played their 4th league match of the season yesterday but unfortunately lost 1 – 0. It was a closely fought contest and could quite easily have been a draw or even a victory. The team played brilliantly and I’m sure they will get a better result in their next match.

Unfortunately, the Catholic School Sports website is currently down  so I am unable to let you know where the team are currently in the league.

Running club will be on as normal this morning.
