Hello Every,

A very Happy New Year and welcome back to the Spring term! We hope you all had a good Christmas. It has been lovely to see all the children back in Nursery and we have really enjoyed sharing our Christmas news with each other and talking about what Santa brought us. Our Winter grotto has now been turned into a performance area for the children to sing songs and play musical instruments – next week we will add some C.Ds and dressing up clothes so the children can also do some dancing. The children have also made some beautiful Winter collages and we have also been talking about Epiphany and The Three Wise Men visiting Jesus. A letter will be sent home next week explaining what themes we will be covering in the different areas of learning this term. Have a good weekend!

Hello Everyone,

Well we have reached the end of our first term in Nursery and what a busy term it has been – the children have done so well. ‘Santa’s Sparkly Surprise’ was a big hit on Thursday – the children had a brilliant time and loved meeting Santa and I have to say that the children’s behaviour on their first trip out of Nursery together as a large group was amazing – well done children! We have had fun and games with our party day today, so no pizza for tea this evening! Thank you for all of your support this term. Hello Everyone,

What a busy week we’ve had! I’m sure you’ll all agree the children were brilliant in their Nativity play and we were so proud of them. Despite three performances this week we have also managed to make our Christmas cards and do the writing to go inside, and we have also made our salt dough tree decorations which we will paint next week.

Next Thursday is our trip to the Belgrade – we aim to be back at Nursery for 11.30 but we may be a little delayed due to traffic etc. Friday is party day – we will provide the food and the children need to come dressed in their party clothes. Have a good weekend.

Hello Everyone,

This week we have been rehearsing for our Nativity play – the children are doing brilliantly! Our first Advent candle has been lit this week and we have also been taking turns to move the reindeer and star along our Advent calendars. The children have also made their calendars and next week we will be making our Christmas cards.

Just a few reminders about next week – On Monday we will be having our dress rehearsal and performing our Nativity play in front of the whole school so any costumes we have asked you to provide need to be in by Monday morning. On Tuesday, children who do not attend All Sorts in the afternoon need to be returned to Nursery between 12.30-12.45pm ready for our afternoon performance. On Wednesday morning please stay in the hall to watch the Key Stage 1 Christmas play after our performance and then you can collect your child from Nursery once this has finished. Friday is Christmas jumper day so get out those Christmas woolies ready for next week. Have a good weekend!

Hello Everyone,

What a pantstastic week it’s been! The children have loved ‘Aliens in Underpants’ – they have made aliens out of play dough, designed their own underpants and have been playing with the space station. Also this week the children have helped to decorate Santa’s grotto ready for the Christmas bizarre tomorrow and they have decorated our Advent wreath. We have a busy couple of weeks ahead of us and we will be concentrating on Advent, Winter, Christmas and rehearsing for our Nativity play with Reception class. Any donations of boxes of tissues for our noses would be very welcome as we are using them rapidly at the moment! Have a good weekend and we hope to see you at the Christmas bizarre tomorrow.

Hello Everyone,

This week we have gone Ginger Bread Man crazy! We have designed Ginger Bread Men and made collages, made Ginger Bread Men out of ginger smelling dough, played a Ginger Bread Man number game and of course made Ginger Bread Men biscuits which we will finish decorating tomorrow and eat at snack time. Our Cake shop role play is now also up and running and we will be painting and varnishing our salt dough biscuits and cakes next week. Next week we will be basing our activities on the book ‘Aliens Love Underpants’. In support of the school Christmas Bazaar, next Friday is non-school uniform day

so the children should come to school wearing their own clothes and bring a bottle of something refreshing! Have a good weekend!

Hello Everyone,

This week we have been continuing our work on shapes, including going on shape hunts, learning shape songs and printing with shapes. Today the children looked wonderful in their spots and pyjamas for Children in Need Day and we made Pudsey Bear head bands to finish off the look. Next week we will set up our bakery role play area and our focus will be ‘The Ginger Bread Man’ so off course we will have to make our own ginger bread men! Have a good week end.

Hello Everyone,

We’ve had a busy week making shape pictures, naming and talking about shapes. We have also made rockets for Bonfire Night, Poppy badges for Remembrance Sunday and Rangoli patterns for Diwali. Next week we are turning our home corner into a cake shop and we will be making our own salt dough cakes and biscuits to use in the shop. If you have any empty cake boxes or packets could you please save them for us to use in our cake shop. Next Friday it is Children in Need Day so the children can come to Nursery dressed in anything spotty along with a £1 donation. Thank you and have a good weekend.

Hello Everyone,

This week we have been counting lots of different objects and focusing on the number 3. We have also read the story ‘Pumpkin Soup’ and we have drawn and described pumpkins. On Wednesday Adhyan’s mum very kindly brought in roti and curry for the children to taste which led to a discussion about the different food we eat with our families and how are families are all different.

Next week we will be celebrating bonfire night and Diwali and doing activities related to this. We will also be doing activities involving shape. Have a good weekend.
