What a week we’ve had!
From alpaca walking, meerkat wrangling and goat petting on Wednesday
to invertebrate hunts on Thursday, followed by a dinosaur invasion on Friday!
This certainly has been a busy return to school. Year 4 showed great behaviour throughout and positive attitudes when supporting friends who weren’t too sure of the animals they encountered. Well done!
Using the power of their imaginations, Year 4 created a whole range of stick-related-activities within the Forest School this week.
We had: -a bow and arrow
-a very handsome mustache
-a pull up bar
-a pick-axe
-a tug of war
and even our very own stick delivery service!
Welcome back to the new Year 4 class!
It’s been brilliant to see all of Year 4 returning cheerful and ready to get stuck in to the school year!
On return to school, we were quick to make use of the rare September sun – with plenty of time spent outdoors in the first week. We even managed to get some ice lollies shared out!
Our first foray into the forest school for the year was to find and bury an acorn. We’ll check up on these soon-to-be plants through the year and see if any pesky squirrels managed to find our buried treasure.
On beginning our new R.E. topic of Creation, Year 4 held a prayer service celebrating the creation we find everyday around us within our own school grounds.

I hope you all had a restful Easter break and I was glad to catch up with some of Year 5 through phone calls in the break. Look out for a post on the front page for a Zoom call to join in with next week.
This week, lots of excellent work has been sent in to be shared – I’m glad to see lots of you working hard from home.
Archie G has shared his fitness routine as well as his reading den. Take a look at his first poem created during the holiday as well as his poem based around the moon.
Cerys had a busy week. Here is her maths multiplication work, tanka poem about the moon, texture patterns for Art, research into some key terms about space and comparing two Bible passages for R.E..
Daniel G has been getting stuck into landscaping! I wonder how long before he starts demanding a wage? He’s also worked on Geography research, a Moon poem and shown a comfy spot to read.
Darci showed a creative side through her diagram of our solar system, her prime and square numbers poster, a range of pencil techniques and a brilliant tanka poem. She also found time somewhere to get a workout in each day!
Niko has found many favourite spots around the house to get stuck into a book detailing how space functions. This has been very useful for his research into some key terms for our solar system.
Roza had a creative Easter break, resulting in some great looking sushi, a very colourful dog and a chain reaction marble run.

Taya has shown her favourite reading spot as well as the research into different mountains she has carried out this week for Geography.
Alannah has looked into the Sacraments and created a poster to explain each one. She’s also focused on natural patterns through photography.
Daniel G had a busy week working on spellings, reading comprehension and discovering how the eye works.
Darci has had a very artistic week. She’s created posters to explain the Sacraments and steps for subtraction. Take a peek at her artwork for her eye as well as the station of the cross she created.
Finally, take a look at her Easter card made for D.T. – the moving parts work really well!
Cerys has worked hard all through the week. She read through the events of Holy week and created a newspaper report of the Anger in the Temple before finding out what takes place at a Passover meal. She also created her own version of a Station of the Cross.
Cerys has worked on spelling, grammar and maths skills. Well done for all the effort!

Niko had a busy week perfecting a delicious looking rice recipe.
Lola W was also getting active in the kitchen – an English breakfast looks like a great way to start the day!
Archie G got up close and personal to work on his macro-photography skills.
Cerys got stuck into Friday’s costumed workout with all her sisters, as well as completing some great research on macro-photography. As well as all this, well done for your top marks on spelling!
Sara has been busy all through the week. She’s created some really interesting biographies – one for Lady Godiva and one autobiography. Sara has also detailed her process for making some chocolate cupcakes – though version 2 may make a switch to milk chocolate instead of dark. Check out her week’s work here.
