A huge congratulations to the ‘all star’ cast of the Twinkly Nativity who provided audiences with 2 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ performances of their nativity performances!

We are so proud of the children in Year 1 and 2 for their nativity performances, they were all shining stars! It was a pleasure to see the children’s confidence grow from first run through to the final performances. They worked hard to learn the Makaton signs to accompany the songs throughout the play. We spoke about those that use Makaton and how this benefits their lives.

Well done Year 1 and Year 2!

Experience Christmas at the Cathedral!

Year 1&2 had a wonderful time today exploring and experiencing the story of Christmas. They enjoyed dressing up and completing crafts to support in their experience.

All of the school staff were very proud of how the children behaved and contributed during the session and also received several compliments from the staff and visitors at the Cathedral.

They even had lots of the public stop to listen as they sand some of their Christmas Nativity songs.

Well done children!

Y6 Advent Faith Workshop

Thank you to all of our friends and family for joining in our Advent Faith workshop in Y6 today. Thank you to all the children who led us in prayer and reminded us of the true meaning of this season of Advent. We were blown away with the creativity shown in creating your own Advent wreaths!

 

Year 3 Advent Workshop

This week, we invited our adults into our classroom to participate. We got our hearts and mind ready for Jesus coming again. We also spent the morning getting our classroom ready.

Year 6 Advent Faith Workshop

During the season of Advent, each class will be holding a ‘Faith Workshop’ where parents and carers will be invited into school to join their child in prayer and complete an Advent themed activity together.
Year 6′s Advent Workshop will take place on Friday 1st December at 1.30pm in the school hall where we will gather together in prayer, song and reflection. Our workshop will provide the opportunity for every child to make an Advent wreath with their loved one to take home and use as a lovely way to pause, reflect and remind ourselves of the true meaning of the lead up to Christmas during this busy festive season.
We are very much looking forward to being able to share this experience with you. So that we can prepare for the correct number of people, please complete the following form to indicate whether an adult will be able to attend for your child and, if so, who. Please therefore complete the following even if you are unable to attend and do not worry a school adult will be there to support any children whose adult is unable to be there.
Please note, that due to the purchasing of resources needed for the event, including the wreath base and candles, there will be a charge of £6.10 which can be made payable on our school’s payment system, School Gateway shortly. If you have the time and opportunity to go for a nice walk together between now and then, any foliage etc will be greatly received!

Odd Socks Day!

Antibullying Week 2023!

As part of ‘Odd Socks Day 2023’ the Year 2 children attended a whole school assembly.

Back in class they enjoyed listening to the important messages of anti bullying, through listening to ‘Andy and the Odd Socks’ band singing ‘Make some Noise!’ joining in with the song/rap reinforcing the message.

They then discussed ‘kindness’ and what this looks like and feels like for them. Finally they designed their own odd socks and added a kindness related word!

Wellbeing and Emotions in Year 2

Coventry Compass provided All Souls with an assembly and activities to support a better understanding around emotions and how they might feel and look for different people. That all emotions and feelings are ok as long as we recognise them and know how to manage them. The message was that we all go through a range of emotions each day and manage these really well.

The children enjoyed making ’emotion frieze frames’ and their partners had to guess how they were feeling. This was a great way to reinforce that feelings may look similar but feel different.

Year 2 enjoyed visiting Fr Paul’s Garden

The children really enjoyed exploring Fr Paul’s garden in search of small creatures and mini beasts. This was our hook lesson getting excited about creating some interesting creatures to write our Non-Chronological Reports. We can’t wait to invite Fr Paul into school to read our final reports!

The sun shone brightly for us which was brilliant after such a soggy weekend! We even popped into the prayer garden to say a prayer of thanks.

Month of the Holy Rosary

Today, Catholic Schools were called to participate in a global campaign to get 1 million children praying the rosary for peace and unity in the world. During hymn practice this morning, the Chaplaincy Team led the children in praying the Rosary together.
