All are Welcome!

This week we started our week with RE. We learnt abut the Creation story. We talked about all that God made and then made our world using tissue paper and made a creation paper chain for our prayer area.

On Tuesday, we began our first topic based on the book ‘All are Welcome’. We have been busy painting a self portrait for our gallery which will go up next week. We will share our finished gallery next week!

In maths we have been matching and sorting. We explored matching pairs and found out that in a matching pair the items must be the same. We also made our own matching buttons. We experimented with different ways to sort and all had a go at sorting objects/buttons in different ways.

It has been another wonderful week. The children are settling more and more each day. Next week we will begin our daily phonic sessions and we will start to send out our reading books.

Prayer Friends

Year 6 and Reception had a lovely afternoon getting to know each other! They found out who their prayer friends were and had the opportunity to play together outside. It was lovely to watch so many new friendships blossom and see how well our Reception children have settled.

Outside at last!

Reception have had another fantastic week. Our highlight has been exploring our new outdoor area. We particularly enjoyed the construction and the water tray. We have been practicing our climbing and balancing skills on our new climbing frame too!

The children are continuing to settle in beautifully and are working hard to make new friends.

Next week we will begin our ‘All Are Welcome’ topic and will create our own gallery!

Our First Week!

Reception have had a fantastic first week at school. We have enjoyed exploring our new environment and have made lots of new friends. Mrs Smith and Mrs Elkins are very impressed with how well we have settled in. We are very much looking forward to the year ahead!

Welcome back to all our children and families.

We are so excited to welcome all our children and families to back to school for the new academic year. We look forward to hearing all about your summer break and the memories made as well as welcoming our new starters in Nursery and Reception and their families who are joining the All All Souls community this year.

We are confident that 2023-24 will be another fantastic year here at All Souls where we are determined that all our children thrive and make the absolute most progress – academically, personally and spiritually – that they possibly can.

We can’t wait to see those smiling faces on the gate in the morning!

Mental Health Awareness Week 2023

‘Wear It Green’

Thank you to all the children who wore green today to raise awareness for Mental Health. Your generous donations helped us to raise over £200 as a school to support mental health charities.

This week, staff have also taken part in All Souls’ Coffee Roulette where we were randomly paired up with another member of staff to take half hour out of our busy days to enjoy a cuppa and connect! We thoroughly enjoyed the chance to catch up with different people, find out more about one another and share some laughter.

Healthy living

The children in reception have been finding out how to stay fit and healthy. We walked to Morrisons and bought some fruit. We have been tasting it to find out which ones we like. We tried pineapple, passion fruit, coconut, blueberries, raspberries, sharon fruit and figs. the pineapple was our favourite. In the morning we took part in the mini marathon and talked about how exercise is good for our bodies. .
