KS1 Gymnastics

25th March 2026Mr R YOUSON

On Tuesday, nine children from Year 1 and 2 took part in a gymnastics competition.

Over the past few weeks, they’ve been working really hard, practising both at home and in school with Miss Jade to perfect their routines. For many of them, this was their first time not only representing the school, but also performing in front of an audience and judges.

As a team, they achieved an incredible 68.1 out of 75 points—an amazing result!

We’re still waiting to hear where they placed overall, as other schools are competing throughout the week – as soon as we find out we’ll let yuou know.

Watch thier routines below.

Lenten Craft Afternoon

18th March 2026Fiona Kirrane

Thank you to everyone who attended our Lenten Craft Afternoon. We had a lovely time reflecting on how Jesus paid the ultimate price for us by giving his life to save us from our sins and we made some Coin Crucifix’s to represent this.

We will take them to our Whole School Mass to be blessed by Fr Paul on Tuesday.

St Patrick’s Coffee Morning

18th March 2026Fiona Kirrane

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our wonderful St Patrick’s Coffee Morning. It was fantastic to see so many members of our school community come together to celebrate and enjoy such a special event.

Year 5 did an amazing job hosting the event, from welcoming guests, perfoming in our Story of St Patrick, dancing to Molly Malone and our special signed performance led by Amie Chester. We loved helping throughout the day serving refreshments, helping everything run smoothly and showing great responibility and pride in representing our school.

A special thank you to the musicians Fiona, Jarlath and Martin and Irish Dancers from Mary McHugh’s School of Irish Dance, whose traditional tunes and dances created a brilliant atmosphere throughout the morning.

Thank you to the PTA for their continued support and for helping organise such a successful event. Your dedication and willingness to give your time makes occasions like this possible. Also, to Rory and the Irish Society for their time given in supporting the celebration and helping us share Irish culture with our community.

Enjoy the photos of the morninng! Videos to follow….

Year 4 River Study Trip to Coombe Abbey

11th March 2026Rochelle Cocksworth

Year 4 had a fantastic trip to Coombe Abbey. The sun was shining and the river levels were low enough for us to take part in the full workshop including wading in the review to carry out different geographical enquiries and pond dipping, where we found a huge range of insects. We enjoyed our lunch in the sunshine before spending some well deserved time playing in the park. Well done Year 4! You were great ambassadors for All Souls.

Year 1 Mondrian Paintings

9th March 2026Mr R YOUSON

Today in Computing, Year 1 explored the work of the famous artist Piet Mondrian and used technology to create their own versions of his colourful artwork.

Using a drawing program on the computers, the children carefully created their own digital Mondrian-inspired paintings by adding lines and filling different sections with colour.

The class did a fantastic job showing creativity while also developing their mouse control, digital drawing skills and understanding of shape and colour in Computing.

Year 3 Gymnastics – March 2026

6th March 2026Mr R YOUSON

Ten Year 3 pupils took part in a gymnastics competition on Thursday 5th March. During the event, the children performed both a floor routine and a vault, and they did an excellent job showcasing their strength, balance and control.

The team performed brilliantly and achieved an impressive score of 98 out of 100. We are still waiting for the final results to see where they finished overall, and we will share this with you as soon as we receive the official standings.

A big thank you to Miss Jade for helping the children prepare so well for the competition.

Well done to all the children who represented the school so proudly!

Football Festival – Friday 27th February
Sixteen children from Year 5 and Year 6 visited Corpus Christi School to take part in a football festival as part of a Memorial Football Day in honour of Kevin Shakespear, the former Headteacher of Corpus Christi, who also attended All Souls as a child. The children were fantastic throughout the day, showing great teamwork, sportsmanship and effort. They were a real credit to the school and represented All Souls brilliantly.

Our Year 6 girls’ rowing team took part in the County Finals, competing against the winners and runners-up from Coventry East, Solihull North and West, and Warwickshire North, South and Central. The girls gave an outstanding effort, with many achieving personal best scores. In a very close competition, the team finished 4th overall, just 4 metres behind 3rd place and 7 metres behind 2nd place. It was a fantastic achievement at such a high level of competition.

Well done to all the pupils who have represented the school so positively over the past few weeks!

Super Scientists!

5th February 2026Fiona Kirrane

We had an amazing morning of Science thanks to Bishop Ullathorne, and we would like to say a huge thank you for inviting us to take part. It was an exciting and hands-on experience that really helped us deepen our understanding of key scientific ideas.

During the morning, we learned all about forces, including gravity and upthrust, and how these forces act on objects in water. We explored why and how a boat floats, discovering that floating depends on buoyancy, density, and displacement. We learned that a boat floats when the upthrust from the water is greater than the downward force of gravity, and that spreading mass over a larger area can help reduce density.

We then carried out a fantastic scientific investigation where we designed and made our own boats. We tested them by carefully adding weights to see how much mass each boat could hold before sinking. This helped us work scientifically by making predictions, testing our designs fairly, observing results, and deciding which boat was the most successful. We also decorated our boats, and a winner was chosen for the best design, which made the challenge even more fun!

We would like to say a special thank you to Mrs Brown and Mrs Maxwell for the well-organised morning and the lovely Mr Bean for such an engaging lesson. Thank you as well to Mr Ballard, Mrs Hayes, and the department technicians for supporting us throughout the activities and helping everything run smoothly.

We had a brilliant time, learned lots of new scientific vocabulary and concepts, and felt like real scientists for the day. It was lovely to see some familiar faces of our All Souls alumni too! Thank you again to everyone @B_Ullathorne for such a memorable and inspiring Science experience! 🚤🔬✨

Alton Castle Retreat 2026

29th January 2026Fiona Kirrane

We had a fantastic time making memories on our annual residential religious retreat to Alton Castle.

The children made new friends, experienced a range of activities, conquered their fears, reflected daily on their Catholic faith and had a whole lot of fun (not a whole lot of sleep, perhaps, but most definitely a whole lot of fun😍)  I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.

Well done Year 5 – you are incredible!

West Midlands Fire Service Spark Workshop

26th January 2026Rochelle Cocksworth

Year 4 had an action-packed afternoon, learning about fire, water and road safety in an age-related workshop delivered by local operational firefighters. We learnt about the risks and causes of fire, smoke alarms, fire escape plans, fire survival skills- including the ‘Stop, Drop and Roll’ technique, emergency calls, staying safe when using roads both on foot and in a car as well as water safety, especially around open water such as lakes and rivers. I am sure that the children will be keen to share some of the facts learnt at home. As always Year 4 demonstrated great listening skills and thoughtful contributions to discussion.

Well done Year 4!
