Congratulations to our Year 3 children

19th April 2026Roisin McGrath

Huge congratulations to our first group of Year 3 children who today celebrated the precious sacrament of First Holy Communion. We wish them a truly blessed and joyful day. May their hearts be filled with love, faith grow stronger and lives be guided by peace and grace.

With thanks to our parish priest Father Paul, Catechist Abraham and our wonderful families for the support and preparation for this day.

Christ Is Risen! Alleluia!

5th April 2026Roisin McGrath

“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.” (Matthew 28:6)

After the sorrow of Good Friday and the silence of Holy Saturday, we rejoice with hearts full of hope: Jesus Christ is risen! Death has been defeated, and new life has begun.

The empty tomb is not the end of the story—it is the beginning of something extraordinary. The Resurrection reminds us that God’s love is stronger than sin, stronger than fear, and even stronger than death itself.

On that first Easter morning, the women went to the tomb expecting sadness, but instead they encountered joy beyond imagining. The angel’s message changed everything: Jesus is alive! Easter invites us to live as people of joy. Even when life is difficult, we are never without hope. Christ walks with us, bringing light into every darkness.

The first witnesses of the Resurrection were given a mission: go and share the Good News. This mission continues today—it is our calling as Christians. We share the Good News not only with words, but through our actions:

By showing kindness to others
By forgiving those who hurt us
By including those who feel left out
By living with joy and gratitude

Every small act of love is a way of saying: Christ is risen!

Easter is not just one day—it is a way of life. As a school community, we are called to reflect the light of the Risen Christ in all we do.

Easter reminds us that no matter what we face, God is always bringing new life. The stone has been rolled away, and the promise of hope is alive. Let us go forward with joyful hearts, ready to share this wonderful news with the world:

Christ is risen! He is risen indeed. Alleluia!

May the joy of the Risen Lord fill our school and our hearts this Easter season.

Walking with Christ: A Journey Through Holy Week

31st March 2026Roisin McGrath

Holy Week is the most sacred time in the Church’s year—a time when we walk closely with Jesus from His triumphant entry into Jerusalem to the silence of the tomb. As a Catholic school community, it is an opportunity to reflect, pray, and grow in love for Christ and one another.

Palm Sunday: Welcoming Our King

“Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” (Mark 11:9)

Palm Sunday marks Jesus’ joyful entrance into Jerusalem. Crowds gathered, waving palm branches and praising Him as King. Yet, this same crowd would soon turn against Him.

How often do we welcome Jesus with joy, yet struggle to follow Him when it is difficult? Palm Sunday invites us to remain faithful, not just in moments of celebration, but also in times of challenge.

Holy Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday: Preparing Our Hearts

During these days, the Gospel readings recount Jesus teaching in the temple, calling people to repentance, and revealing the coming betrayal.

“Watch and pray that you may not undergo the test.” (Matthew 26:41)

These quiet days of Holy Week remind us to prepare our hearts. Through prayer, kindness, and forgiveness, we make room for Christ in our lives.

Holy Thursday: The Gift of the Eucharist

“This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” (1 Corinthians 11:24)

On Holy Thursday, we remember the Last Supper, when Jesus gave us the Eucharist and showed us how to serve others by washing His disciples’ feet.

Jesus teaches us that true greatness is found in humility and service. In our school and at home, how can we serve others with love and compassion?

Good Friday: The Cross of Love

“Father, forgive them, they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34)

Good Friday is a solemn day when we remember Jesus’ suffering and death on the Cross. It is a powerful reminder of the depth of God’s love for us.

The Cross shows us that love is sacrificial. When we face difficulties, we can unite them with Jesus’ suffering and trust in God’s plan.

Holy Saturday: Waiting in Hope

“They laid him in a tomb…” (Luke 23:53)

Holy Saturday is a day of silence and waiting. Jesus lies in the tomb, and the world seems still.

This day teaches us patience and hope. Even in moments of darkness or uncertainty, God is at work. We are reminded that joy is coming.

Holy Week is not just a story from the past—it is a journey we are invited to live each year. As we walk with Jesus from Palm Sunday to Holy Saturday, may we grow in faith, hope, and love.

Let us take time this week to pray, reflect, and remember: the story does not end at the tomb. Easter is coming, and with it, the promise of new life.

May our school community be filled with peace and grace this Holy Week.

KS1 Gymnastics

25th March 2026Mr R YOUSON

On Tuesday, nine children from Year 1 and 2 took part in a gymnastics competition.

Over the past few weeks, they’ve been working really hard, practising both at home and in school with Miss Jade to perfect their routines. For many of them, this was their first time not only representing the school, but also performing in front of an audience and judges.

As a team, they achieved an incredible 68.1 out of 75 points—an amazing result!

We’re still waiting to hear where they placed overall, as other schools are competing throughout the week – as soon as we find out we’ll let yuou know.

Watch thier routines below.

Lenten Craft Afternoon

18th March 2026Fiona Kirrane

Thank you to everyone who attended our Lenten Craft Afternoon. We had a lovely time reflecting on how Jesus paid the ultimate price for us by giving his life to save us from our sins and we made some Coin Crucifix’s to represent this.

We will take them to our Whole School Mass to be blessed by Fr Paul on Tuesday.

St Patrick’s Coffee Morning

18th March 2026Fiona Kirrane

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our wonderful St Patrick’s Coffee Morning. It was fantastic to see so many members of our school community come together to celebrate and enjoy such a special event.

Year 5 did an amazing job hosting the event, from welcoming guests, perfoming in our Story of St Patrick, dancing to Molly Malone and our special signed performance led by Amie Chester. We loved helping throughout the day serving refreshments, helping everything run smoothly and showing great responibility and pride in representing our school.

A special thank you to the musicians Fiona, Jarlath and Martin and Irish Dancers from Mary McHugh’s School of Irish Dance, whose traditional tunes and dances created a brilliant atmosphere throughout the morning.

Thank you to the PTA for their continued support and for helping organise such a successful event. Your dedication and willingness to give your time makes occasions like this possible. Also, to Rory and the Irish Society for their time given in supporting the celebration and helping us share Irish culture with our community.

Enjoy the photos of the morninng! Videos to follow….

Year 4 River Study Trip to Coombe Abbey

11th March 2026Rochelle Cocksworth

Year 4 had a fantastic trip to Coombe Abbey. The sun was shining and the river levels were low enough for us to take part in the full workshop including wading in the review to carry out different geographical enquiries and pond dipping, where we found a huge range of insects. We enjoyed our lunch in the sunshine before spending some well deserved time playing in the park. Well done Year 4! You were great ambassadors for All Souls.

Year 1 Mondrian Paintings

9th March 2026Mr R YOUSON

Today in Computing, Year 1 explored the work of the famous artist Piet Mondrian and used technology to create their own versions of his colourful artwork.

Using a drawing program on the computers, the children carefully created their own digital Mondrian-inspired paintings by adding lines and filling different sections with colour.

The class did a fantastic job showing creativity while also developing their mouse control, digital drawing skills and understanding of shape and colour in Computing.

Sports News – 06.03.26

6th March 2026Mr R YOUSON

It has been another busy and successful period for sport at All Souls, with many pupils representing the school in a range of events and competitions.

Mixed Rowing Competition – Monday 23rd February
Four pupils took part in a mixed rowing competition and performed brilliantly. They worked incredibly hard and finished in an impressive 4th place, missing out on a medal by just 30 metres. It was a fantastic effort from the team and they represented the school with great determination.

Year 5/6 Football – Cup Match
On Tuesday 24th February, our Year 5/6 football team played against Whittle Academy in the Coventry Schools Cup. The team produced an excellent performance, playing some fantastic football and working brilliantly together. Their efforts were rewarded with a superb 9–0 victory.

Football Festival – Friday 27th February
Sixteen children from Year 5 and Year 6 visited Corpus Christi School to take part in a football festival as part of a Memorial Football Day in honour of Kevin Shakespear, the former Headteacher of Corpus Christi, who also attended All Souls as a child. The children were fantastic throughout the day, showing great teamwork, sportsmanship and effort. They were a real credit to the school and represented All Souls brilliantly.

Tennis Roadshow – Monday 2nd March
Children from Reception to Year 3 took part in a tennis roadshow, delivered by a coach from Beechwood Tennis Club. The pupils had the opportunity to learn some basic tennis skills and take part in fun activities.

County Rowing Finals – Wednesday 4th March
Our Year 6 girls’ rowing team took part in the County Finals, competing against the winners and runners-up from Coventry East, Solihull North and West, and Warwickshire North, South and Central. The girls gave an outstanding effort, with many achieving personal best scores. In a very close competition, the team finished 4th overall, just 4 metres behind 3rd place and 7 metres behind 2nd place. It was a fantastic achievement at such a high level of competition.

Well done to all the pupils who have represented the school so positively over the past few weeks!
