Year 6 have an estimated return time of 5.30pm from our day out at the Houses of Parliament.
Please can parents picking up make sure to not block the coach in, leaving space on the corner outside of school.
Children have had a brilliant day and have represented All Souls at its best!
We have been working hard in Maths this week learning about quotitive and partitive division. We used straws and counters to help us overcome lots of challenges until we nailed it! Well done Year 5!
We had terrifc fun plying in the snow today! Well done to everyone who braved the adverse weather conditions and made it into school! A super turn-out and a super snowball fight!
On Monday, our Year 5 and 6 children enjoyed an exciting trip to Planet Ice. It was wonderful to see so much encouragement, resilience and teamwork on display as pupils challenged themselves and supported one another. Almost everyone had a fantastic time both on and off the ice — including Mrs Rae (eventually!).
Year 4 had a fantastic trip to the Think Tank Museum. We learnt lots of facts about all sorts of scientific topics from wildlife and the human body to space travel and steam powered engines. The children had lots of fun watching explosive scientific experiments in the Christmas Show before burning off some energy whilst playing with their friends in the science garden. We got through so much in the time that we were there and the feedback from the children is that they would definitely like to return!
As part of our Design Technology curriculum, we spent the afternoon baking and decorating some delicious, Christmas treats.
We carefully prepared a written recipe and method and tested our preparations out to create the perfect, festive Christmas biscuits!
A huge thank you to Ms Blair-Wilson, our kitchen manager and Chef, for co-ordinating and leading the event and to her team; Mrs Kaur-Nagra and Mrs Croft for all of their support. A special thank you to Sodexo and Alliance in Parrtnership (AIP) for supplying the ingredients and supporting the experience.
The children absolutely loved the afternoon and were so proud of their creations! We most defintiely have some budding bakers in the making!
This week we have taken our learning outside to give us some inspiration for writing poetry. We went on a winter-walk around the school grounds to explore what we could feel, see, hear, touch, taste and smell.
The children have written some wonderful Cinquain poems that we are going to display in our classroom.
Well done Year 5!
Year 5 spent a lovely afternoon with their grown-ups at our Advent crafting event. The children read Prayers and Scripture and spent time crafting their own Advent Wreaths.
Thank you to those who were able to join us and we hope that your hand-made wreaths will take pride of place in your homes this Christmas!

Group A spent today rock scrambling and kayaking, with the children showing some brilliant teamwork.
Group B started the day with kayak adventures before an afternoon of beach exploring.
Group C took on the challenge of a mountain hike leading to and through a mine!
Year 6 have enjoyed a fantastic (but rainy) first day of activities at Dol Y Moch.
Groups A and B started the day with orienteering and an independent hike before a beach visit.
Group C began their day with exploring the coastline before a kayak adventure on the lake.
After a busy day, we’re all ready for some dinner before our first night activity!
