It has been a busy three-day-week filled with getting-to-know-you activities, team building games, role play and other bits and bobs!
We began the week by reviewing the class rules, that we put together on transition day, to help us become cool classmates, perfect pupils and make sure Mrs Hartwell and Mrs Elkins strive to be terrific teachers.
After catching up with what we had been up to over the summer holidays, and taking part in some getting to know you games, we thought long and hard about the year ahead. We completed our hopes and inspirations on a hand print to remind us that we are responsible for achieving these.
Over the holidays, we were asked to design and create a mathematical board game which demonstrated the knowledge we already had. We had the opportunity to get them out, play with them and share our creations with our classmates. Everyone had put so much effort into them – it was fantastic! Take a look at our gallery to see us all playing our new games.
We also tested our computer skills out as we each created a wordle to sum up our personality, likes and hobbies. These were then displayed with pictures of ourselves, that we were responsible for drawing half of. You can see the finished creations on the wall leading to our classroom.
On Friday, we kick-started our Spanish lessons for the year and surprisingly hadn’t forgotten much of what we had already been taught.
Finally, to end the week, we visited the prayer garden where we spent time reflecting on the year we have had, the year we were going to have and asking God to support us in many aspects of our final year at All Souls.
Throughout the week, we had all been rewarded with raffle tickets for various things. We were all very excited to have our first raffle draw and very happy for Kayden who won himself a super-large pencil case. Well done Kayden!
