Fourth Week of Home Learning For Year Four

Oliver has worked hard this week. He has answered comprehension questions and he has kept a food diary for science. Also, he has practised his spellings, certain letter joins in handwriting and, in grammar, the use of apostrophes to show single possession. Oliver has made a map of the street that he lives in and the streets around it. His mum said how positive he is about his home learning which is good to hear. Well done and keep up the fantastic work, Oliver!

The children have been busy sketching a portrait of somebody in their house. Olivia chose to sketch her sister, Rebecca. What a great portrait! We are sure Rebecca was very pleased with your efforts, Olivia.

Lottie chose her dog, Fergi, to sketch. Fergi looks well-behaved sitting giving his paw but Lottie told me he isn’t most of the time! I think you’ve tried really hard and produced an excellent portrait, Lottie.

Below is a sketch of Ted’s baby brother, Barney. I love how Ted has drawn his brother’s eyes in great detail and how he has included all of the ‘out of place’ hairs. Well done, Ted!

Also, Olivier kept a food diary for science, practised using apostrophes to show single possession in grammar and drew a map of the street that he lives on and the streets that surround it. He continued to train daily with Joe Wicks and he trained hard in Taekwondo via ‘Zoom’. Olivier enjoyed riding his bicycle to Jacob’s house so that he could see him from a safe distance. I’m sure Jacob was pleased to see you too!

Alicja has continued to work extremely hard at home. In maths, she has been busy converting units of length, mass, volume and capacity. In science, she kept a food diary and, in art, she sketched a portrait of her baby brother. Alicja answered comprehension questions and, in R.E, she explored the Gospel accounts of the resurrection of Jesus. Well done, Alicja! You always try your hardest.

 

Week Three of Home Learning For Year 4

Niamh has been busy. She has sequenced and explained the key events of Holy Week, the most sacred time of year. Also, Niamh drew a very impressive sketch of what she could see out of one of the windows in her house. I particularly like your image of the electric mini car in the garden, Niamh!

Patrick accurately sequenced and explained the key events of Holy Week and he presented his work well. Excellent, Patrick!

 

Eva has worked hard to create a timeline of events which happened during Ancient Greek times. Her timeline is bright, colourful and very well presented. Eva scored full marks when tested on the spellings of words that she had to learn. Well done, Eva!

Also, Lottie created a timeline of events from Ancient Greek times. She decided to present hers in her Home Learning Book. Accurate work, Lottie!

Ffion has, with the help of her dad, created a guitar using materials in her house. You look like you has great fun making the guitar and the final result is excellent. Also, Ffion baked an array of delicious goodies and completed the maths and English activities set. Good girl!

 

Alicja’s, Olivier’s and Niamh’s Home Study Task – Electric Hereos

Not content with completing all of the home learning tasks set, Alicja also completed her fourth home study task which was set at the start of this half term. She chose a significant figure in the history of electronics, Stefan Kudelski, and researched his life and work. Alicja then created her own audio recorder whch Stefan Kudelski is known for creating. Well done, Alicja. You always work so hard.


Olivier studied the life and work of Jacek Trzmiel who created computers. I am very impressed with the monitor and keyboard that he created. Olivier particularly enjoyed drawing an image from a computer game on the screen.

Niamh researched the life and work of Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple. I think we would all agree that we would be lost without our iPads and iPhones today, especially during this period of isolation that we are currently facing.

 

 

 

 

 

Roman, Lily and Olivier’s Second Week of Home Learning

Roman continued to work hard at home. He completed a sound survey, explained what one of the Beatitudes means, scored full marks (again) on the spelling test and tackled various maths activities. Well done, Roman!

Lily worked extremely hard last week. She practised forming certain letters, answered comprehension questions and mathematical calculations and wrote a prayer to God asking for His forgiveness. I particularly enjoyed reading the non-chronological report that she wrote on a fictional creature, a llamacorn. Good girl!

Olivier was also very busy indoors and outdoors. He has learnt how to roller-skate and is practising hard in order to get better. He has continued to exercise daily with Joe Wicks and has enjoyed going for walks and bike rides. I’m pleased that you’re making the most of the sunny weather that we are having at the moment, Olivier!

Jackson had great fun learning about the human body. He drew around his little brother’s body before using an information book to help him to work out where different organs are found in the body and then marking them on  the outline drawn. Jackson also practised his formation of certain letters, answered comprehension questions and scored full marks on a spelling test. Keep up the great work, Jackson!

Ted’s Terrific Week

Ted has worked extremely hard this week. Not content with answering comprehension questions and mathematical calculations, writing a non-chronological report on a fictional creature and scoring full marks in a spelling test, Ted also made his own butter from cream. He then used the butter that he had made to make an apple crumble with his sister, Millie, following the set of instructions that he had written. The crumble looked delicious! There is no end to Ted’s talents because he then, using a template that he found and a sewing machine, created an Easter bunny! What a fantastic week, Ted! I am so impressed with all of the wonderful work you have completed and all of the things that you have made this week.

 

 

 

 

Oliver’s Hardworking Week

Oliver has been extremely busy this week with his school work and also in the kitchen!

He has answered maths calculations and reading comprehension questions, practised writing statutory spelling words in his neatest handwriting, written a prayer to God asking for His forgiveness and written a non-chronological report on a fictional creature, a rexio.

Oliver made cups of tea, spaghetti bolognese and different cakes. I enjoy drinking tea so you’re welcome to make me a cup of tea once we are back at school, Oliver.

Oliver’s also been learning how to roller-skate and he has been riding his scooter. Well done for working so hard, Oliver!

A Busy Week for Ffion

Ffion has been busy this week. On Tuesday morning she completed maths work, practised her formation of certain letters and answered reading comprehension questions. In the afternoon, She baked cookies which I am sure tasted delicious!

Ffion continued to work hard for the rest of the week. She completed a sound survey, wrote a non-chronological report on a fictional creature, a dragonoid, and designed a musical instrument. Well done, Ffion!

 

Riley’s Second Week of Home Learning

Riley has been busy this week. He has been completing number sequences in maths, practising his formation of certain letters, answering reading comprehension questions and explaining what a particular Beatitude means in R.E. along with writing a prayer asking God for forgiveness. He has also written a non-chronological report on a fictional creature: a scorpegle. Well done, Riley! You will need a rest this weekend!
