Year Six have been working hard to create their own narrative to the short silent film, Alma.
This is just one of the many wonderful examples of suspense writing that they produced!
We shared in a beautiful family mass this morning in which we listened to Deacon Paul proclaim the Gospel according to Matthew (5:13-16).
Year 6 then led the Homily to provide insight into the meaning of the scripture and relate it to the lives of the parishioners of the Church. We were asked to not only recognise each other as the salt and light of the earth but also, more importantly, try to be the salt and the light for others.
Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated this special Mass with us and especially to those who read and altar served.
Year 6 practising their balances today in gymnastics!
Our next Confirmation RE unit in Year 6 is Baptism & Confirmation.

We are asking children to bring in a photo of their baptism to support them with their learning (you can either send a hard copy in to be photocopied or email me a digital copy).
Thank you!
Year 6 showed off their amazing bargaining skills in History today!
We played an interactive game to investigate how, what and why the Vikings traded. We even used weighing scales to complete our transactions, just like the Vikings did! We all enjoyed seeing which trade center would have the most silver coins by the end of the game and came up with brilliant reasons why!
Year 5 and 6 enjoyed spending time together in our Church this morning as we shared in a class mass. The Gospel today, according to Mark (5:21-43), reminded us of how powerful Jesus is. We learned about two people who came to Jesus with a need that only He could help them with. They believed He could give them what they asked for and in return, they received.
It was a really lovely way to start the day and was great to see some of our family and friends of the parish there too. Thank you to Father Paul and Deacon Paul for leading the mass and to all those who read, altar served, listened and responded to God’s word.
We were very lucky to have Monsignor Keith, Ordinary of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, join us for assembly this morning. Well done to the Year 5 GIFT chaplaincy team who took the floor to explain their new roles within the school and how they plan on supporting us to Grow In our Faith Together. The children loved talking to Monsignor Keith about our school’s mission statement, ‘Christ is our Light’ and felt very privileged to have been gifted with some precious time out of his very busy schedule!
Year 6 are practising the art of Lino Printing his half term. With the help of Miss Quinn, they have created some designs based on their Confirmation Saint, copied them onto some foam, carved them out and begun trying out their designs using different coloured inks.
We are all very excited to see the final pieces!
