Yesterday the children in Year 2 made a baby Jesus to prepare for His coming. The children were very excited!

Excitingly, the All Souls choir have been asked to perform at 3 gigs this Christmas! The performances will take place during lunch time and will be on the following days:
Friday 3rd December at the Maudsley Pub @ 12pm
Wednesday 8th December at All Souls Church for Dementia Activity Days @12.15pm
Thursday 9th December at Earlsdon Park Village @ 12.15pm
Could you please return the slip sent home today to the office or myself as soon as possible if you permit your child to take part in these sessions. Limited learning time will be lost, the children will have their lunch just before leaving so please ensure they have a packed lunch with them on this day.
Many thanks
Miss Clarke
Please note I have opened the choir up to the Year 2 children for these events too.
We had a lovely afternoon spending time with the residents at Earlsdon Retirement Village today. We played games, read with them and asked them questions that we came up with as a class. They really enjoyed it too!
Some children then went and planted in their greenhouse! We will go back in the summer to see how they have grown!
Finally we wowed them with our amazing singing voices! We sang a mixture of songs and the children did brilliantly! Miss Clarke was so proud.

Dear parents,
As we are going to Earlsdon Retirement Village on Wednesday 10th November, as part of the risk assessment we require children to do a Lateral Flow Test on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning if possible to ensure we are adhering to COVID-19 procedures to protect the vulnerable residents of the retirement village.
Many thanks for your cooperation in this,
Miss Clarke
Year 2 have raised an impressive £88.91 for Zoe’s Place today! A massive thank you to Aurora and her mummy for making some tasty biscuits for us too!

Dear parents/ carers
From Tuesday 16th November myself, Ms Croarken and Mrs Elkins will be running an extra choir session on a Tuesday afterschool from 3.30-4.30. This will run alongside the choir session on a Thursday lunchtime at 12.30-1. We hope that in running extra sessions we will be able to learn the rest of the Young Voices songs as well as perform some Christmas songs closer to Christmas.
I’m aware that some members of the choir have other activities on a Tuesday afterschool so more practice should be done at home using the Young Voices portal.
If you have any questions please email me- [email protected]
Many thanks for your cooperation in this,
Miss Clarke
Dear parents,
1. On Friday 5th November we will be dressing up in our pyjamas to raise money for Zoe’s Place. The children discussed amounts for them to bring in for this and we decided on £2, however if they feel like they would like to donate more they can. Please could you send them to school with an appropriate coat and footwear for break and lunch time.. The children can also bring in a small teddy if they would like.
2. On the afternoon of Wednesday 10th November the children will be visiting Earlsdon Retirement Village to play games with the residents, read to them, ask them questions as well as performing 3 songs which we have been practicing in class. These are:
When I’m 64 by The Beatles
We’ll Meet Again by Vera Lynn
When I Grow Up by the cast of Matilda
I have sent home lyrics for these songs and would really appreciate some time spent with the children practicing these at home too.
As well as this, the retirement village have asked for us to support them in their recycling by bringing empty crisp packets, toothpaste tubes, toothbrushes, pens and bread bags with us so please do send these into school as and when you have any.
Thanks for your support!
Miss Clarke
Dear parents/ carers
As a class we have decided that the first charity we would like to support is Zoe’s Place in Coventry. On Friday 5th November the children will dress up in pyjamas to raise money for the wonderful work they do for poorly children. We discussed how much the children think they should donate and they have decided on £2, however if they wanted to bring in more that would be fabulous! I have said that they can wear slippers in class however they need another pair of shoes/ coat for outside. I have arranged for a volunteer at Zoe’s Place to discuss what the money they bring in will be going towards to help to support families and children via a Zoom this Friday.
Many thanks for your cooperation in this and your continued support,
Miss Clarke
Year 2 had a good day on Friday at the Transport Museum.
First we did some activities where we compared bikes throughout time, looked at the structure of a bike and what makes it safe, had a go on a scooter with rubber wheels and with wooden wheels and then did a science experiment where we found out that rubber stops quicker than metal which is why they are good on tyres!
Then we walked around the museum and had a look at the different cars, bikes, buses and taxis!
Then we had some chilled time drawing some bikes!
