Our wonderful & beautiful school business manager, Miss Clemons is leaving on Friday, for pastures new.
We want to take this opportunity to say the biggest thank you ever for being so caring, so happy, so much fun and for being so good at what she does!
We will miss her a great deal but wish her the very best in her new career!!
On Saturday 4 boys and 3 girls took part in the Coventry Schools Cross Country Relay Competition. It didn’t start off great as there should’ve been 4 girls in the race, unfortunately one of them had to drop out due to injury. This meant that the girls couldn’t compete in the race competitively, however thanks to the kindness of a girl from St John Vianney School we did manage to take part. Ebony joined our team to enable them to race non-competitively. They all tried their best and managed to complete the race. Well done girls
The boys race was always going to be a tough race as most of the team were from Year 4 and would be competing mainly against Year 6 children. Therefore I gave them the challenge to finish in the top 15. They were all up for this and gave everything on their way round the course and when Kai took the final leg it was a nervous wait to see where they had finished. Incredibly they managed to finish in 14th position which was a great achievement for them. Congratulations boys!
On Thursday more children from the school will be taking part in the Catholic Cross Country Event, we wish them good luck on their way round the 2000m course.
Yesterday over 65 children and adults from our school took part in the Dol-y-Moch mile as part of the Coventry Half Marathon. For the last 6 weeks children taking part have been coming to school early to run approximately 2 miles, meaning they had completed 12 miles of the 13 mile half marathon. Yesterday was their final mile, everyone had a great time completing it and were rewarded with a medal and water bottle at the end.
Thank you to all the adults who came along to run with the children, without your help we would not have been able to run.

This is the start of the race, we have a couple of children at the very start who were eager to get away early however most of the children can be seen at around 1 minute 20.
Year 3 and 4 enjoyed their 2nd lesson of Gaelic Football today with Usman, our Gaelic Football coach from Finbarrs. They were learning how the move and make a successful hand pass to a team mate. If any of your children would like to play more then please ask and I will be happy to pass on details about Finbarrs training.
13 children from KS1 competed in the School Games Agility Challenge earlier today against 5 other schools. They had to complete 6 events throughout the morning using different athletic skills like running, throwing and jumping. All of them tried their best and were a credit to the school. We await the results to find out if they have made it through to the next round as another 15 schools are taking part over the next few days.
I apologise for some of the blurry pictures, the children were moving far too fast for the camera to keep them in focus.
At All Souls Primary School we have decided to extend Safer Internet Day to the whole week. Children will be learning how to stay safe online and what to do if they do if they see or hear something inappropriate. As part of our computing curriculum children are taught how to be safe online throughout the year therefore these lessons are used to reinforce what they should already know.
Also as part of Safer Internet Week we are taking part in a series of competitions with other schools from our cluster group. Children in all year groups from 1 – 6 produce a piece of work around keeping safe on the internet. After they have completed the work the best pieces will be entered against the other schools where impartial judges will decide an overall winner. Each winner will each receive an amazon give voucher – good luck!

Year 1 and 2 had a great start to their morning playing fitness bingo. They chose a card which had an exercise on it and when they had completed the exercise they could mark it off on their bingo card. All of them worked extremely hard however it was Charlie, Annabel, Livia and Finn who won bingo fitness from Year 1. Aden, Archie, Hasan and Oliver were the winners in Year 2. Well done!
