There will not be a rehearsal on Wednesday morning, before school, this week, (Wed 17th June) for the Symphony Hall.

Choir practise will be on as normal on Thursday lunchtime.

On Thursday 11th June 10 children from Year 5 took part in the first ever Catholic Cricket Tournament at the Standard Cricket Club. It was a lovely summers day, perfect for cricket and the children all had a great time playing. They played three group matches to start against Corpus Christ, Our Lady of assumption and Holy Family. The children played superb and managed to win all 3 games losing only 1 wicket and hitting lots and lots of boundaries. Having won all their group games they then had to play in the final against Christ the King who had also not lost a match, unfortunately this is where our winning streak ended and Christ the King won the tournament. Finishing 2nd was a great achievement for the children especially considering they had only 1 lesson and a few playtime’s for practice, well done everyone.

We would like to say a huge congratulations to the Year 3 children who made their First Holy Communion this weekend. We are very proud of them and hope they enjoyed their celebrations.

Thank you to all the parents, family, friends, teachers and parish community who supported the children in this sacrament. I’m sure you would all agree that the masses were very special and it was wonderful to see everyone gather together to celebrate with the children.

On Thursday 11th June at 9:15am is a whole school mass to celebrate. Family, friends and the parish community are warmly welcomed. Also on this day, we will be having photographs and a class party. Please check the class letter from last week that outlines all the details and has a photo order form attached.

This afternoon the children from Reception through to Year 6 completed a fun run around the school grounds in memory of Jack Smith, whose anniversary was Tuesday 2nd June.  He had spoken for some time of wanting to organise a fun run, similar to the Tesco fun run we held a few years ago.  We weren’t able to get a helicopter to land on the field this time, and Jack’s intention of getting Simon Cowell to attend didn’t quite come through – but the weather was beautiful and Sophie, Kelsey and Tiegan led the run with huge smiles on their faces.  We finished the run with ice lollies and a well earned rest before the end of what has been a very busy week.

The boys took part in the first of many sporting activities this term in the Year 6 Cricket Tournament held at Leamington Cricket Club. They played excellent cricket in some appalling weather with the boys, and Mr Youson, getting cold and wet in very non cricket conditions. They battled through this though and managed to play 4 games winning three of them and losing just the one to Christ the King. We’ll find out soon if they managed to do enough to get through to the regional finals at Mosely School later on in the term.
