A fantastic week to end a long, busy and very successful term. The end of term Mass and carol service followed by our trip to Ash End Farm was a wonderful way to start our week.

We then completed our week with a beautiful prayer service led by the chaplaincy team to remind the children what Christmas is really about.

As a treat for the children we settled in our PJs and watched The Polar Express (chosen by them). We had popcorn, sweets and hot chocolate.

The children were understandably excited so we finished our day by ready our special book that had been delivered by a very special guest, “The night before Christmas”

I just want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your generous gifts and cards, they are very much appreciated. Also to wish you and your families a blessed Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

Well what a fantastic trip we had today to Ash End Children’s Farm. The rain held off and we were even blessed with a little sunshine for the afternoon. We fed animals, met brand new baby piglets and chicks that were only 3 days old, balanced ‘junior’ chickens on our heads, met Santa’s reindeer, took part in a Nativity with a real life donkey (!), went to Santa’s house and received a lovely gift, ate lunch next to an open fire, measured ourselves next to HUGE Shire horses, saw a young bird of prey on his first practise flight and bounced on a gigantic air pillow! It was a busy, fun-filled day and we all had a great time! Enjoy looking at our pictures below.

The children were absolutely brilliant, well behaved and tried everything even when they were a little nervous. A member of the public commented on how lovely our children were and we agreed proudly, they were a credit to All Souls and their parents.

Wow! What a busy, tiring and hard week it has been for our Year One children. With assessments, new learning and a Nativity play to get ready we have certainly been kept on our toes! After all of this hard work we finished the week with a beautifully reflective prayer service. We were very excited to light the candle on our handmade Advent wreath and we wrote our hopes for Advent and Christmas on special hope stars. th

A very busy but exciting week in Year One. We started with our trip to the cinema to see Ferdinand with Year Two. The children were all brilliantly behaved and were an absolute credit to the school.

We arrived on Tuesday to a very special delivery. Freezing cold and straight from the South Pole! Penguin Small had written to us and let us know all about his life.

We continued to learn more about addition in maths and will be moving on to subtraction next week.

On Friday we got spotty for Pudsey. We arrived at school to find Liberty Bear and Pudsey had been very helpful and added a little sparkle to our Diva Lamps.

The children will get their spellings on Monday as they didn’t go out today.
