This week we have been learning about capacity despite the weather not being great. We dodged the rain to explore size and capacity with the water tray and containers. We also planted some peas that we will be looking after during the next half term.
Our play practise for our assembly is going well, please could you send in your child’s costume this week so that we can make sure all children have something to wear.
Please try to make our ladies night this Thursday, we would like to see you there if you cannot make it we would be grateful of any raffle prize donations.
Thank you for supporting us in leaving your child at the end of the Reception garden. They have been excellent at coming in by themselves and settling into the classroom.
We are busy practising for our Assembly, some of the children have some words to learn and we would appreciate your help in this. The date of the Assembly, along with some other important dates, is on our Summer newsletter that will be out on Friday.
This week we will be exploring capacity and writing sentences. We will also be seeing how well we have practised our spellings.
Please look out for our Summer trip letter to the Black Country Museum. We will be looking at toys of the past and the present and continuing this work in the classroom.
We had a great end to the term having a Easter egg hunt in the garden and a party to say goodbye and good luck to Mikey. We will miss you Mikey, keep in touch.
Please help your child to continue their reading and spellings over the holiday.
We hope everyone has a lovely, enjoyable, Holy Easter with your families.
We have been role playing in our Theatre; getting ready for our visit this week to the Belgrade. We will be looking around backstage, in the dressing rooms and on the stage. We are very excited about the visit. In mathematics we have been exploring how to share, it helped us understand better when we had to share sweets! In literacy we have been starting to discover how a story is structured and having ago at writing our own. This week we will have some more read write spell sheets with new words to practise. Please would you help your child complete these, it really helps with their writing skills.
Thank you to all who came to share lunch today. The children really enjoyed having lunch with you.
