We have had a very busy term learning all about Chinese New Year, shapes, numbers, logos, print in the environment and conducting experiments. The children were very good at finding print around the school and also at reading the names of products from the logos. We told the children they were going to read today and they all said they could not read, so they were very pleased with themselves when they could read logos including ‘McDonalds’ and ‘Coco Cola’. We have been recapping on our earlier shape work and working on recognising numbers. The children have had great fun role playing in the Chinese restaurant and have made Chinese Lanterns for the Nursery. It looks very bright and cheerful. We tasted lots of different Chinese food including noodles, rice, prawn crackers and spring rolls. Prawn crackers were the favourite. We have also been conducting science experiments to find out what drink is best for our teeth and how (when Mrs McCloskey did not bring in the correct chocolate biscuits but came in with biscuits and a bar of chocolate) we could get the chocolate to stick onto the biscuit. Lots of children were able to suggest that we melted the chocolate. The children have also been performing inthe Nursery Theatre. Below we have included a few photographs of the activities.

The children had a fantastic visit to the Belgrade to see Santa’s Rusty Robot. They really enjoyed taking part and were all well behaved. Below are a few photographs of the day.
Well done to all the children in the All Souls Choir, you were amazing today.
We are very proud of the children who were all well behaved and sang perfectly. Thank you to Mrs Ellis, Mrs Elkins and Ms Croarken who put in a lot of time and hard work in order that the children had this great experience. Following are a few photographs from the days events.
