Year 4 have been investigating which liquids do the most and least damage to our teeth. We began by placing hard boiled eggs into 5 different liquids (water, orange juice, cola, blackcurrant squash and an energy drink). The eggs were left for around a week and we set up a camera to record the results. Here is a time lapse video of the experiment and a photo showing the final results.
As part of our science topic ‘Living things including humans’, we have started looking at teeth. Here are some photos of the class making their own models of sets of teeth. Next week we will be investigating which liquids are best and worst for our teeth.

Year 4 have been writing play scripts this week to retell the story of Joseph and his brothers. The groups worked excellently together and have shown a good understanding of the story. Here are a few short clips of the performances.

Year 4 – Geography homework

Thank you and well done to Zuzanna and Pierce for leading a beautiful prayer service in Year 4 on Friday. The prayer service was about peace and respect after we have been learning about everyone being made in the image and likeness of God in our RE lessons. We’re all looking forward to next weeks service that will be lead by our School Representatives Harry and Lola. 
It has been another busy week in Year 4. The whole class has worked hard and everyone is beginning to come to terms with the higher expectation of Year 4.
The results of our weekly spelling test were fantastic this week and it is clear that the class is practicing their spellings. Also, well done to everyone who is regularly reading at home and having their reading record signed, remember that this is an expectation.

Year 4 homework
LO: To write a log entry about a day on board the Peggy Sue.
The homework this week is about Kensuke’s Kingdom. Michael is now sailing around the world on board the Peggy Sue with his family. At the end of every day he writes an entry in his log book.
Your task is to write a log entry (a bit like a diary entry) as Michael, about one of his adventurous days at sea.
Think carefully about all of the jobs Michael has to do, the school work and all of the exciting things he sees and places he visits.

Climbing club got off to a great start today with Freya, Olivia, Lemuel and Carey all learning the basics of how to use the bouldering wall. We’re looking forward to having the Year 6s involved next week and having a go at some more challenging routes.
Don’t forget to be in your PE with pumps or trainers on.

Well done to James, Lorcan, Molly, Lucy, Lucas, Harry and Jude for presenting their work on the story of creation to Year 1. You all explained your work excellently and did yourselves and the rest of Year 4 proud. Year 1 listened beautifully and asked some super questions.
