Football vs St Augustine’s

Yesterday the football team played their 3rd game of the season against St Augustine’s. They continued their unbeaten start to the season with a highly entertaining 0-0 draw.

St Augustine’s had the better of the first half as Ethan from Year 6 made 3 or 4 brilliant saves to keep the score at 0-0. The second half saw us dominate more and we had a few chances late on to win the game but it was their keeper this time that made a few great saves resulting in the game ending goalless.

Everyone played superbly and the game could have ended 4-4 if it wasn’t for both the keepers, a draw was probably a fair result as neither team deserved to lose. Great effort boys well done!

Table Tennis

In P.E this half term Year 5 and 6 will be learning to play table tennis. They took part in their first lesson on Tuesday and learned how to hold the paddle (table tennis bat) correctly as well as some of the basic rules. Everyone had a lot of fun including Mrs Quinn and Mr Cooke who popped in for a quick game.

Basketball

On Tuesday 3rd November the basketball team played their first games of the year. They played incredibly well winning both the games they played in. The first game was against Frederick Bird, it was a very tight low scoring game winning 6 -4. The second game, against Our Lady and St Teresa’s, was a more open game with All Souls winning 12 – 4. Well done everyone!

9k Mud Run

Aliscia form Year 6 took part in a 9k mud run over the weekend. She completed the course in an amazing time of 1 hour 30 minutes and managed to raise lots of for Multiple Sclerosis in the process.

 

Year 3 Photo Editing

Year 3 continued to use Gimp (a free photo editing software) this morning to edit photos of themselves. They first removed the background using the magic scissors tool, they then had to find and save a picture they wanted to use from the internet. Finally they inserted the picture and corrected the size using the scale tool. Below are a few examples of what they created.
