The Year 4 children have continued to impress us with all of their wonderful work.
During the month of May, we pay homage to Mary, our Blessed Mother. Patrick wrote a thoughtful prayer to Mary asking for her help during this difficult time. He decorated it beautifully with a set of rosary beads.
Roman has also chosen to focus his prayer on asking Mary to help those who are suffering from Coronavirus and the doctors and nurses who are caring for them. I particularly like the lovely rainbow that he has drawn to illustrate his prayer.
Lily-Rose has also shared her lovely prayer to Mary. She prays that this pandemic will end soon. We all share your thoughts, Lily. Well done!
Tommy has worked very hard over the last few weeks. For science, he completed a food diary, and, in maths, he converted analogue and digital clock times and units of length and mass. Also, Tommy completed comprehension questions and he practised using apostrophes for single and plural possession. I particularly like the triptych that he has created in R.E. He considered how the disciples on the road to Emmaus felt before and after encountering the Risen Christ and he wrote a thoughtful prayer to Mary. Keep up the great work, Tommy!
Eva has been ploughing through her maths and English work this week. In maths, she has constructed a bar chart and a pictogram before accurately interpreting these. In English, Eva has been identifying main and subordinate clauses in complex sentences, practising writing the words that she needs to learn to spell and certain letter joins in handwriting. Also, she has written a film review. If you haven’t already watched the film ‘Penelope’, Eva recommends that you do. For art, she used felt squares to create a space invader wearing a witch’s hat. Excellent work, Eva!
Oliver has been extremely busy over the last couple of weeks. He enjoyed camping out in his garden with his brother, Frank. They watched films, played games and toasted marshmallows on a fire. It sounds and looks like you had great fun. Oliver played ‘Happy Birthday’ to his sister, Julia, on his guitar. Also, he has answered comprehension questions, practised writing his letter joins and the words that he needs to spell, as well as practising using apostrophes for plural possession. Oliver completed a review on the film ‘Boss Baby’. He recommends that you watch it, if you haven’t already seen it, as he thinks it is funny. In R.E, he has written a lovely prayer to Mary and created a triptych. Super work, Oliver! Keep up the great effort!
Ffion has thoroughly enjoyed completing her art work this week. Using Paint software, she created a picture of Maleficent followed by a picture of her family. Both pictures are fantastic and very effective, Ffion! For maths, she completed a traffic survey before presenting the information gathered using a bar chart. Well done, Ffion!
James Clancy has been working extremely hard. He completed an additional R.E task as he researched the story of Our Lady of Fatima for her feast day on 13th May before drawing a lovely picture of her. Well done, James! Also, he created an excellent triptych of the risen Christ and the disciples on the road to Emmaus before carefully considering how the disciples felt before and after encountering the risen Christ. In art, he used Paint software to create his own PAC-MAN image. For maths, he completed a traffic survey as well as statistical work, and, for English, he answered comprehension questions and wrote a film review for ‘Jurassic World’. He is continuing to train in Taekwondo via Zoom, and is enjoying playing football during his break times. James is proving to be a tremendous help around the house, assisting with the cooking and washing. We are really impressed with you, James!
Olivier worked hard to complete all of the tasks set in four days so that he could have Friday off. Like Ffion, he had great fun completing his art work and the traffic survey. Last weekend, Olivier went on a twenty mile bike ride! He must have been exhausted when he finally made it home!
Alicja has had another productive week of Home Learning. She has completed all of the maths and English tasks set as well as writing a lovely prayer to Mary. Well done, Alicja!
